One Piece Themed Official Café Opens in the U.S. for the First Time!
Japan is well-known for its numerous themed cafés based on animes, games, and much more. Now, One Piece, one of the most popular animes of all time is getting an official café in Las Vegas, U.S.!
The good news was delivered by Greatness LLC on Friday.
The café will open on May 11 in Nevada.
The One Piece-inspired recipes include Japanese Fruit Sando — Robin’s favorite, Stretchy Mochi Cookies and Gum-Gum Fruit Mousse Bomb — nods to Luffy’s Devil Fruit rubber powers, Big Mom’s Wedding Cake — a seemingly splendid choice for any tea party from hell, and Mighty Meats Pirates Platter — a meaty meal suitable for the future king of the pirates himself Luffy.
There are also meals inspired by other characters, such as Chopper’s Hat Cake — based on the lovable reindeer doctor’s iconic hat, Zoro’s Onigiri — fittingly named after one of his signature moves and simultaneously the Japanese term for “rice balls,” Banban’s Pepper & Egg Fried Rice — a delicacy from a friend of Sanij’s mentor Zeff, and Tajio’s Beef Curry — a dish served by an aspiring Marines chef that the crew met after Alabasta.
The café will also have Nami’s lovingly crafted Mikan Tangerine Slushy, the All Blue Mocktail — a drink that hopefully Sanji can find, Franky’s Coke-a-Cola Ice Cream Float — which is bound to be a SUPER choice, and Pumpkin Juice — which is probably something that Straw Hat musician Brook would drink… if he weren’t a skeleton… SKULL JOKE! YOHOHOHOHOHOHO!
Toei Animation, the animation studio behind One Piece, and restaurateur Andy Nguyen of Greatness LLC collaborated on the new café. Based on Sonic the Hedgehog, Greatness LLC also developed the Sonic Speed Cafe.
About One Piece:
One Piece manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 108 tankōbon volumes as of March 2024.
The manga spawned a media franchise, having been adapted into a festival film by Production I.G, and an anime series by Toei Animation, which began broadcasting in 1999.
Additionally, Toei has developed fourteen animated feature films, one original video animation, and thirteen television specials.
The latest entry in the franchise, One Piece Film Red, premiered in Japan in August 2022.
It is the 8th highest-earning film of all time in Japan and also topped Japan’s box office for the year 2022 in terms of both yen earned and tickets sold.
