One Piece Announces Anime Return and New Timeslot, Less Censorship Expected
The new One Piece anime timeslot will give fans the best possible experience in both watching and reading the series and without censorship to boot!
The One Piece anime’s current 6-month hiatus may still be ongoing but there is so much hype for the series.
On Jump Festa 2025 on December 22, 2024, a trailer was featured, showing a preview of the coming episode to be released on April 6, 2025.

Along with the trailer, we get a key visual showing Gear 5 Luffy with Vegapunk and the Straw Hats with Bonney, along with Imu and the shadowed Five Elders, and Kizaru.
Notably, Kuma is on the right side, seemingly when he is about to punch Saturn in the present-day.
Many things will change for the anime, such as the timeslot being at Sunday night instead of morning, which could indicate less amount of censorship, which would be timely for the remaining content of the Egghead Island Arc

As announced before, One Piece will be moved to a much later time instead of Sunday morning. 11:15PM JST, right before the newest chapter releases!

The anime will return with a schedule that ensures less censorship, especially for the upcoming content, such as Bartholomew Kuma’s tragic and painful backstory featuring some of the worst crimes committed by the World Government.
Trailer Breakdown
The trailer shows the events of Chapter 1089: “Hostage Situation”, which is the start of the climax of the arc, where Jaygarcia Saturn and Admiral Kizaru invade Egghead Island and begin the Buster Call.
After kidnapping York, the treacherous Vegapunk Satellite, Luffy uses the Den Den Mushi to talk to the Gorosei in Mary Geoise, introducing himself like usual as the man who will become King of the Pirates.
We see Vegapunk beseech the Straw Hats to let him escape Egghead with them and some cuts from previous episodes.
Then we get Luffy and Kizaru talking, with Luffy shocked to see the Admiral, who says that studying the Void Century is a crime.
We end the trailer with Jaygarcia Saturn just sitting there, presenting his view of human lives as insects to him.
“Someone strong is coming”, hinting at Saturn being the true threat and not Kizaru.
