American One Piece fans were thrilled to see their favorite pirate soar through the skies of New York City on Nov 24, 2023, as Monkey D. Luffy makes his 1st ever appearance in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2023, joining Goku from Dragon Ball.

The balloon stands 50 feet tall, with a length of 43 feet, and a width of 39 feet, making Luffy the widest balloon in the Parade. Twenty different hues were used to give life to the Luffy balloon.

As you can see from the clip above, it seems like Luffy’s hat did not survive until the end of the parade as it was hit by a tree.

Maybe this is foreshadowing Luffy not fulfilling the promise he made to Shanks of becoming the King of the Pirates. HOLY SHIT, ODA IS A GOD!
