Horikoshi Confirms My Hero Academia will have MULTIPLE SEQUELS
My Hero Academia really is far from over as long as Horikoshi makes more side stories or even one-shots.
My Hero Academia is one of the series that occupied the Jump Festa 2025 Red Stage, from which the teaser for the upcoming “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes”
On December 22, 2024, Author Kohei Horikoshi also provided an illustration for Jump Festa, depicting All Might (in his armored form), Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki as part of an “idol group”.
Horikoshi drew a new illustration for Jump Fes featuring an “Idol Group” version of All Might, Deku, Bakugou, and Todoroki lol. I translated his comments on the illustration.
Also, he has a long message from Jump Festa 2025 about the manga ending and what’s in store next!… pic.twitter.com/k0VJ9PQ1dO

During the event, Horikoshi posted his message of gratitude to the fandom and the strong possibility of more My Hero Academia content.
It’s December, and it’s gotten way colder now. I hope everyone is still as good as before!
My Hero Academia manga has ended. Thank you for cheering me on and reading the series all these years. And even if you weren’t cheering me on but reading the manga anyway, I will always be forever grateful.
Since the manga serialization has indeed ended, I’ve grown to love these characters a lot more than I thought, and it gives me a sense of emptiness to know that the series is finished.
However, I have a ton of light-hearted illustrations and “shouto” (katakana for the word ‘short) manga that I’m working on at the moment, and I’ve been spending blessed time doing that instead.
Ah, by “shouto manga” I don’t mean “Shouto Manga, aka Todoroki-kun manga,” I mean actual short manga panels.
I also revealed a new illustration for the Genga Illustration Exhibition that will be happening next year, and I just might be working on even MORE PLUS ULTRA illustrations. I hope you enjoy them when they are revealed!
The anime also still has one more season left. When Season 1 aired, I honestly had no idea that it would run for this long. And we’re going to have a Vigilantes anime too! I can’t wait to cheer them on with the rest of you as well!
Man, this message ended up looking like something I wrote in my schedule book.
I really want to look back at the series and share more thoughts about it, but I guess I’ll plan to put it in the manga volumes for Vigilantes later.
Anyway, let’s talk about future plans for the My Hero Academia series!
In short, My Hero Academia will still continue! Deku and the others will always do their best for you all and for me too, so I hope you continue to support them from here on out!
In times like these, please take care of yourselves and stay PLUS ULTRA!

Future My Hero Academia Sequels
Horikoshi mentions at the end of his message the exciting news that “My Hero Academia” will continue.
This is not in reference to the Vigilantes anime adaptation or the final season of the main show but Horikoshi specifies that “Deku and the others will always do their best for you all”, indicating a continuation that revolves around the adult lives of the protagonists of the original story.
Horikoshi’s mention of “short manga” could indicate more Side Stories, likely even one regarding the adult versions of the My Hero Academia cast or even one-shots as a means to continue the series.
My Hero Academia Volume 42 was released this month and had reached more than 1 million sales after a week.
