Although it is considered weird as hell, it’s not new to see older anime fans name their child after a character from their favorite series. This time, an American Attack on Titan fan decides to bring the rumbling to the real world by naming their child after Eren Yeager.
That’s right! A male child born in a New York City borough on Nov 13, 2023, was declared the holder of the Founding Titan, being named “Eren Yeager Bonilla” on Nov 27.
Here’s the birth certificate of that very child to prove it!

Fans on Instagram began joking about the whole thing, predicting that the baby’s first word will be “Tatakae”, the Rumbling will take place in 2042 and that some of them will run to Africa to save their lives.
About Attack on Titan:
Attack on Titan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It was serialized in Kodansha’s monthly magazine Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from September 2009 to April 2021, with its chapters collected in 34 tankōbon volumes.
Studio WIT adapted the first 3 seasons of the anime, while Studio MAPPA adapted the final season. The series came to an end with the airing of its final episode on November 4, 2023.
Crunchyroll describes the overall plot of Attack on Titan as follows:
“Known in Japan as Shingeki no Kyojin, many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress.
Only the heroic members of the Scouting Legion dared to stray beyond the safety of the walls – but even those brave warriors seldom returned alive.
Those within the city clung to the illusion of a peaceful existence until the day that dream was shattered, and their slim chance at survival was reduced to one horrifying choice: kill – or be devoured!”
