On April 5, 2025, Fire Force will come back with its final season.

On December 5, 2024, David Production returns to do Fire Force with its first trailer for Season 3, which shows us everything that will take place in the final season and this was followed up by the main PV released on February 27, 2025.

Let us break down what to expect and how the anime adaptation can keep up after a 6-year absence since Season 2’s 2019 release.

Manga Arcs Left

The anime has adapted 20 of Fire Force’s 34 volumes with a total of 174 chapters and 15 of its 25 listed arcs.

This means that there will be 14 volumes, 10 arcs, and exactly 130 chapters left to finish off the anime, which is quite an ask as each season averages at 90 chapters per 24-episode season.

We begin the final season with “Obi’s Rescue Arc”, covering Chapter 175: “At the Center of Faith” to Chapter 197: “Farewell”.

Will 24 episodes still be enough to finish the series off?

The first 12 episodes are premiering this year, which will cover quite a lot of ground to set up the final arc, the Great Cataclysm Arc (Chapter 251: The Shield Breaks and Laughs to Chapter 302: Divine Judgement)

Obi’s Arrest

In Episode 48, we ended the second season with the White Clad led by Yona intending to enter the Holy Sol Temple, to take their “rightful place” in the Tokyo Empire.

It seems after all these seasons, the White Clad have decided to fully take control of the Empire and arrest the man responsible for undermining their efforts, Company 7’s Captain Obi, which triggers a rescue mission and open clash with the government.

To help with the rescue while avoiding detection, Company 7’s Captain, Benimaru Shinmon disguised himself as Moonlight Mask.

Leonard Burns Joins The White Clad

Within the start of the final season, we are greeted by a shocking move by Company 1 Captain Leonard Burns, who kneels before the Evangelist, who manifests next to Haumea and Emperor Raffles III inside The Holy Sol Temple – Holy See.

This eventually leads into Shinra’s battle with Leonard Burns as the protagonist grapples with this betrayal.

Dragon

The strongest of the White Clad, Dragon finally shows off in the Obi’s Rescue Arc and becomes a prominent presence due to his overwhelming power and is the only one to be able to Infernalize at will, creating a durable armor to make him resistant to pyrokinetic attacks.

Acting as Arthur Boyle’s rival, Dragon is responsible for destroying Excalibur, which leads into the Arthur’s Adventure Arc (Chapter 202: “The Knight King’s Grand Adventure ” to Chapter 205: “The Holy Sword Reborn”)

Titanic Infernal

The Stone Pillars Arc (Chapter 206: “Connection” to Chapter 219: “Misdeed”) brings up the largest Infernal recorded and it is a sign of the coming of the second Great Cataclysm.

THE REAL WORLD???

The first trailer ends perfectly with the black and white PHOTOREALISTIC clip of an older woman smiling at the camera.

This is taken directly from Chapter 255: “She Who is the Seventh Pillar”, where we learn that Sister Sumire was actually a woman from the “real world”, the world before the Great Cataclysm.

However, we see the “real world” for the first time in Chapter 216: “Ancient Madness” during the Stone Pillar Arc, which will likely be covered in the first part.

The fact we are seeing Sumire’s real world form in the final shot suggests that the final season will fully adapt all remaining 130 chapters and that David Production already has material made for the final cour of the season.
