Yuji’s parents have rarely been mentioned in the story. Yuji grew up with his grandfather, Wasuke Itadori, but his parents remained a mystery until the end of the Shibuya Incident Arc.

The reveal of Yuji’s family shocked the whole fandom and gave us a better understanding of why Yuji may have superhuman strength.

In this article, we will uncover the truth about Yuji’s parents. Let’s start with what was revealed at the end of the Shibuya Incident Arc.

Who Are Yuji’s parents?

In chapter 143, after Yuta killed Yuji, our protagonist has a dream. In this dream, we saw Yuji’s father, Jin Itadori.

We learn his name as Jin reponds to Yuji’s grandfather as Father. In the later part of the sequence, Wasuke asks Jin to give up on some women.

As the conversation continues, we learn that Wasuke is talking about Yuji’s mother, Kaori. We also learn that Yuji’s father wanted a child, but it was not possible with Kaori.

Yuji’s grandfather was just about to say something regarding Kaori’s death but got interrupted by Kaori.

…Wait, but Wasuke was about to talk about her death, right? So was she dead or not?

That is when the chapter shows Yuji’s mother, Kaori, and it shocked the whole fandom. What the chapter showed was Kaori with a scar running through her forehead.

This scar was eerily similar to that of an ancient sorcerer that we all know about, Kenjaku.

Now, let’s discuss another question that may have crossed your mind.

Is Kenjaku Yuji’s Mother?

When Chapter 143 dropped, many were skeptical of Kenjaku being Yuji’s mother.

Then, in Chapter 160, Kenjaku, currently in possession of Geto body, thanks Sasaki for getting along with Yuji while referring to him as his son.

For those unaware, Sasaki was Yuji’s friend, as shown in the first chapter.

This further makes sense, as Choso got a vision in his head where he sees himself with Eso, Kechizu, and Yuji having a hearty meal together.

It was possible because cursed wombs have the ability to recognize their own bretheren and as the oldest, that ability is even greater in Choso.

If all these were not enough to convince you, then maybe Kenjaku’s own words can convince you.

In chapter 208, after Yuki activated her cursed technique Maximum: Black Hole. The whole area around them crumbled and was destroyed, but Kenjaku was still alive with minimal damage.

Tengen then asked Kenjaku how he did it, and that is when he revealed the truth. He said that a cursed technique called Anti-gravity system was engraved in Kaori Itadori.

Kenjaku revealing Kaori's cursed technique

Through Lapse, he was able to avoid the restriction on unstable output and time activation by using his own body as a domain.

This helped Kenjaku survive Yuki’s Black Hole technique, and this confirmed that Kenjaku had indeed possessed Kaori’s body and also that Kaori might have been a sorcerer.

For those who are unaware of Kenjaku’s technique, after taking over a body, Kenjaku is also able to use their innate technique even if he has switched the body.

TL;DR

Chapter 143 revealed that Yuji’s father was Jin Itadori, and it also eluded to Yuji’s mother, Kaori Itadori being possessed by Kenjaku and giving birth to Yuji.

Later in chapter 208, Kenjaku revealed that he survived Yuki’s maximum technique by using the anti-gravity system, and this was a technique of Kaori Itadori.

So in a way, Yuji’s mother is Kenjaku.
