Attack on Titan and Black Clover Voice Actor Passes Away
The anime community has lost an underrated star in Hiroshi Tsuchida.
On October 20, 2026, it has been announced by talent agency 81 Produce that voice actor Hiroshi Tsuchida passed away on October 11 due to heart failure at the age of 54.
Although most famous in the anime scene for his spectacular performance as Grisha Jaeger, father of protagonist Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan, he first cemented his place in the hearts and minds of Japanese audiences in the tokusatsu genre via Super Sentai, particularly the 1994 season, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, as NinjaBlue or Saito.
His recent roles include Trainer Okita in Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Road to the Top and Damnatio Kira from Black Clover, as well as Kazuki from the Yakuza video game series, with the possibility of those roles being filled by other actors imminent.
