Sanji’s Martyr Complex Keeps Him From Becoming King! One Piece Chapter 1195 Full Spoilers!
Sanji’s self-sacrifice and self-harm are some of the biggest roadblocks to Conqueror’s Haki. Will we witness yet more peak writing for the kindest Straw Hat?
In the previous One Piece chapter, Zoro finally controls his Conqueror’s Haki, learning Advanced Conqueror’s Haki as he prepares to fully defeat Saint Shepherd Sommers.
One Piece Chapter 1195 is titled, “Weakness”
This chapter has 17 pages.
Editor’s note: “Zoro vs Sommers reaches its climax!!”
The cover page shows Sanji as a hairdresser trimming off a large part of the mane of a horse boss while at the same time telling a human woman about her turn, to the shock of other horse minions, who are horrified by this recklessness.
This represents how Sanji views his customers when serving food: men are the horses and his quality of service to them is poor while women are his priority.
Zoro vs Sommers Nearing its End
The chapter begins with where we left off as Sommers runs off, with Zoro has mastered Conqueror’s Haki as he emits it throughout his body.
Judging from his super funny scared face, Sommers is clearly traumatized by the mere existence of Zoro the same way he was with Gaban and it gets worse when Zoro vanishes.
Zoro, with fire in his eye, is about to attack Sommers, who runs away crying in fear.
Sommers, screaming with a big open mouth, tells Zoro to stay back, and we get Zoro’s face like the one time they were about to take care of Oars in Thriller Bark when he got stuck, with his one eye flaming with excitement and malice to use Sommers as a training dummy.
Zoro catches up to Sommers, and a blast is seen.
Is the final blow supposed to be off-screened or will we see Sommers reveal a Devil Fruit awakening before his downfall?
Gunko’s Guilt
Once Shuri is unfrozen, Brook assures the ex-Princess of her safety and explains the situation, how she was frozen a while ago in Chapter 1189: “King of the World”.
However, Jinbe remains cautious, telling Brook to be careful.
So Brook asks her to tell him who she is.
Shuri remembers her past with Brook, her father, and everything else, and she remembers begging Imu that she wants to live.
Just like Robin did in Enies Lobby.
However, this one looks terrifying because as Shuri cries, she is being stalked by Imu in her own bedroom.
Nami says Shuri is not in pain, and so Shuri gets up and says yes to Brook.
Brook says that if she were an enemy, she wouldn’t feel like that.
Brook says he could not forgive her for that day, which is why he wished he had forgotten all about her and the events of Esperia but now knowing she had no choice and that she suffered, Brook offers to forgive her again.
Shuri remembers a flashback to when she was Domi Reversi’d in Chapter 1149: “One Second”, and we can now see Shuri crying.
Brook tells her to take her time, as Brook doesn’t expect her to explain in a few words, and says that he should introduce himself to her.
Now Shuri rremembers in a flashback something regarding Harald and about turning giants into slave military powers.
Gunko/Shuri says she is from the Manmayer family of the World Nobles, a military child, hence the name Gunko.
Gunko picks up the sword, and Brook asks her what the tears are for then?
Brook starts singing, and she is angry, pushes Brook away with a slash to the ground, and says not to come any closer to her.
Brook reminds her that her sword stance was something he taught her but Gunko continues denying to know Brook and flees, while Brook screams out her true name.
Nefertari D. Lili is from Elbaph!
Back in the hidden room, Biblo, Chopper, Robin and Saul finally open the gigantic treasure chest, which contains information about Nefertari D. Lili
Through Chopper’s translation, Biblo, the giant owl, explains that a human named Lili lived in Elbaph a long time ago.
Biblo’s grandfather has a chest containing something that Nefertari Lili left there 800 years ago, the same age as this very place they are standing on.
However, we still cannot see what is inside.
There is a lot to glean from this.
Perhaps Imu, Joy Boy and Lili lived on Elbaph during its early period before the Void Century
With this revelation, we will indeed get the fabled Imu flashback, which would shed light into who exactly Joy Boy is.
Sanji vs Killingham
We now get to West Village, where we get to see Zaza facing off against the giants, and a few panels with kids apologizing to their parents and grandparents, and the parents are telling them that they will save them.
Road is also telling his little brother that he will save him.
Without knowing Sommers is finished off by Zoro, we get a panel of Killingham, where Killingham tells Zaza to go to the port and that Sommers is waiting for her there.
Sanji is getting dogwalked, and he is mad that Killingham is looking away while they fight.
Killingham asks Sanji if he is still standing and remarks that Sanji is already done for.
Sanji uses Sky Walk and Ifrit Jambe on Killingham and breaks Killingham into pieces.
Killingham tells Sanji that he lacks Conqueror’s Haki and to piss off Sanji further, he goes on to say that Sanji has reached his limit, that the Giants of Elbaph will become their limbs, part of their army.
Sanji kicks him again and again, and Killingham tells him no matter how many times he tries, the result will still be the same, and he calls Sanji a PEASANT, ironic given that Sanji is a prince of the lower world but to Celestial Dragons, all humans are peasants and Fishmen and other races are scum.
Now in his Hybrid form, Killingham heals up and uses the Spear of Life to attack Sanji, noting that Sanji, a “peasant” remains helpless as he is constanly jabbed by a spear that created the world.
Killingham uses Divine Thunder Hammer on Sanji, and then after getting hit with that, Sanji is thrown down on the ground as
Sanji’s Self-Esteem Issues
While Zoro was ignorant and believed Luffy and other great pirates were something else, Sanji’s problem is much, much worse.
We finally learn what Gaban was telling Sanji.
Gaban points out that while Sanji has the aptitude for Conqueror’s Haki, he harbors a dangerous tendency to self-harm and sacrifice.
Throughout the series, Sanji has been famous for being the solo agent who takes on risky spy missions, fitting his form due to his formal suit and actual intelligence.
Now on top of Sanji, Killingham acknowledges that Sanji is really stubborn and asks him if his body is made of steel.
Sanji affirms that he is just torturing himself with self-loathing.
He recalls how he first met Luffy in Baratie, where Luffy told him that paying someone back does not repay a debt, which is something he knows well as someone with an immense debt to Shanks.
He recalls every moment he chose to sacrifice himself.
In Skypiea to block Enel’s lightning blast aimed towards Usopp.
In Thriller Bark, he was the first to offer his life to Bartholomew Kuma, which was instead taken by Zoro.
In Dressrosa, as the leader of the “Curly Hat Pirates”, he offered to take on Donquixote Doflamingo to save the others.
Finally, Whole Cake Island, where he recalled how choosing to leave the Straw Hats and be with the Vinsmoke Family would actually solve his problems, which leads to him breaking down and eventually reconciling with Luffy.
Killingham then stabs Sanji on the shoulder, asking him if he is a cook and asks what type of food so those in the lower world eat to survive.
As Killingham stabs Sanji on the shoulder, Sanji’s eyes widen as he hears the familiar song of the okama.
Hell Memories finally unlocked.
And it is not what we expected.
We see Ivankov remind Sanji that time and time again, he has a grave weakness.
It turns out the real Hell Memories were not his internalized homophobia or fear of okamas.
Instead, it seems like Ivankov has confronted Sanji about something that made him feel quite vulnerable.
Editor’s note: “Will it happen…?! A “Miracle”?
There will be NO BREAK Next Week.
One Piece Chapter 1196 will be released on October 19, 2026.
