Shiba vs Ibuki Misaka! Kagurabachi Chapter 132 Spoilers!
Is Shiba actually on the same level as the Enchanted Blade wielders in terms of Sorcery?
In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Kunishige aims to recruit Ibuki Misaka as one of the master swordsmen for the Enchanted Blades.
Kagurabachi Chapter 132 is titled, “Misaka”
Released on September 28, 2026, this chapter has 15 pages.
The chapter begins with a weather broadcast on TV saying that Kyushu’s weather is fine but in one town, Kitakyushu, thunderstorms are a common occurence even while everywhere else is fine.
This sets up Ibuki Misaka quite nicely, especially as we see him sit on his motorcycle feed a stray cat some already-eaten noodles, saying that he does not have enough for himself if he keeps giving it to the cat.
This is an interesting bit of dialogue to show what kind of man he is.
Behind the reckless persona was someone who lived by giving much of himself and his resources for the sake of the people who live in his town.
Even that recklessness is a sign of that love.
While riding a taxi to meet Ibuki, Shiba recalls his conversation from the previous chapter, where Kunishige says he wants trustworthy blade bearers with incredible skill and conviction, similar to Hiroto and Yoshinojo, who passed away during the Irishima Talks.
Ichiki states that as part of the original terms to permit this project, Giyu Soga, the head of the Soga Clan, will be the first Enchanted Blade bearer.
Giyu Soga seems to be the original wielder of Magatsumi, the Shinuchi, but likely died early into the Seitei War
Shiba suggests Itsuo Shirakai, who is 59 at this time, as another wielder but Kunishige clearly despises him yet with good reason.
In spite of being the founder of Iai White Purity Style, Shirakai is seen by Kunishige as someone who does not embody justice.
He is a misogynist who likes challenging other people, to the point that by the time he reached his present age of 79, he retreated to the mountains out of boredome, meaning he has no interest in protecting the country.
He would be somebody that Ibuki and eventually Akemura detest.
Kunishige considers Giyu a thousand times better.
There are two candidates Kunishige has in mind: one obviously being Seiichi Samura.
The other is a girl with four ribbons that look like Rinnegan eyes and the last remaining Enchanted Blade user to meet.
They feel like contrasts since Samura blinded himself meanwhile we have an open-eyed girl whose ribbons look like eyes or butterfly wings, evoking poison.
Her presence could be why the arc is long as we will get to know three Enchanted Blade users fully, four or five including Giyu and/or Akemura.
Shiba remarks that Kunishige had sold katana to three people so far, meaning Mashiro could have been one of the Enchanted Blade wielders.
It is possible Mashiro was the stand-in for Yoichi Uruha, the youngest of the Enchanted Blade users.
This leaves 3 more options to choose.
One is Samura and another is a person Samura fought to a draw 2 years ago, Ibuki Misaka.
This returns to the present, which continues the conversation between Shiba and the taxi driver, who identifies Misaka as a famous delinquent.
Shiba compares to the motorcycle gang next to them but the taxi driver clarifies that Ibuki is “way cooler”, showing off Misaka stickers on the seat backscreen.
We see the leader of a motorcycle gang harass the cars in traffic with a katana, with a police officer, Sugimoto, taking action by jumping atop the roof of his police car.
With his katana, Sugimoto cuts down two motorist gangsters but fails to harm the leader, since he used Sorcery to reinforce his body.
Shiba smokes in the taxi, which the driver reminds him not to do.
The gang leader counters with his blade but Shiba teleports himself and the cop away while he goes up and presses his still-lit cigarette on the gangster’s left eye, which confirms that he reinforced his eyes as well.
A reminder that even no-name Kagurabachi characters with attitude are smarter than most anime characters, being able to reinforce all of their weakspots but also an indicator of how strong the cops are, including non-Sorcerers like Sugimoto, who, like most of the populace before the Seitei War, is unaware of the existence of Sorcery.
Shiba reminds the gang leader not to show off Sorcery in public, with the latter pointing out Shiba’s hypocrisy yet Shiba says he is allowed, which the gangster takes to mean that the Sorcery Bureau is now involved.
Suddenly, while still on top of the guy, Shiba gets a call from Ichiki, who warns him that Ibuki Misaka is actually in the Sorcery Bureau’s most wanted list and thus for Shiba to pull out immediately.
They then hear a loud roar from Ibuki’s motorcycle, as shown with the large kanji in the first panel of page 11.
Ibuki’s name is a simple BOLD introduction while Ibuki crashes into the hoodlum’s bike.
Shiba understands why he is infamous: as he is responsible for so many incidents in the town that involve public use of destructive Sorcery and as such he is wanted by the Bureau.
However, all of his targets are evildoers, which leads to his positive public reputation, to the point that the town does not want to have him caught.
While acknowledging this fact, Ichiki tells Shiba that Ibuki is their enemy, so Ichiki tells Shiba that they can look for other Enchanted Blade wielder candidates and to not bother making contact with Ibuki.
Shiba says “Roger” but he is clearly willing to confront the delinquent vigilante.
