Kunishige Recruits Ibuki Misaka! Kagurabachi Chapter 131 Spoilers!

In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Kunishige survives his ordeal and reunites with his beloved Chiaki, freeing her from Mikaboshi enslavement.

Kagurabachi Chapter 131 is titled, “Tipping Point”

Released on September 7th, this chapter has 13 pages.

This is the shortest chapter in Kagurabachi history.

The chapter begins where we left off as Chiaki embraces Kunishige, missing his voice and that his penmanship is still awful and she looks cutely at him.

This feels like a leftover page from the previous chapter.

March 29, 10pm, after the Anasthesia Spell was cut short

Anyway, we cut immediately to the Sorcery Bureau, who are outraged that the deal is off now.

Ichiki reminds the Bureau that handing over the Princess Soga was to buy Japan a one-year ceasefire.

As a deal that favors the Mikaboshi, Japan cannot be sure the Mikaboshi will honor their side of the bargain since the Mikaboshi previously abandoned peace in favor of violence, which led to this deal in the first place.

Going through with this deal was predicated on the assumption that smelting the Datenseki and weaponizing it for Japan’s side was impossible.

Izaru asks how viable the steel is, to which one of the scientists says that while it is 1.4% carbon and thus a fitting tamahagane steel, other than that, he is unsure.

We see a slight flashback of a younger Kyora Sazanami examine the smelted Datenseki, remarking that the fractures are uniform, one can feel the power brimming from it and that removing the impurities did not hinder but only concentrated the energy.

Kyora vouches for the Datenseki, saying that not making this into a katana is an insane missed opportunity.

The head of the Sorcery Bureau is appaled that they had to resort to acquiring help from the Sazanami Clan

The Sorcery Bureau are hesitant to get Sazanami cooperation because they are aiming to expand the Rakuzaichi, the auction that sells numerous illegal items, including the targeting of civilians.

However, Izaru also admits that the Sazanami have a keen eye for appraising value.

Kyora wanted to buy the Datenseki if the government was not using it but the government eefused, much to Kyora’s chagrin.

We can clearly see where Kyora’s devotion to the Enchanted Blades began.

Returning to the meeting, the Sorcery Bureau confirms that the Soga Clan leader Giyu supports the Enchanted Blade project, with other sorcerer clans following suit.

This works for everyone because using Flame Bone would give the Kagari Clan greater influence, threatening even the Soga Clan’s supreme place.

Giyu’s attitude changed when he heard the smelting was a success, likely wanting an Enchanted Blade for the clan, all to rival the Kagari Flame Bone.

One Sorcery Bureau member noted that the Masumi were the only reason the smelting group had not died, both by voucing for them and likely also healing them.

Still, the smelting was a success only because of Kunishige’s vision, being able to see through the fire, thus the Masumi vouches for Kunishige’s trustworthiness.

However, the Masumi note that their methods could be improved, such as erecting a heat-absorbing force field around the building.

As such, the Masumi offer their barrier skills to aid in Kunishige’s work to make it safer and more efficient.

The Sorcery Bureau leader with glasses is still upset as Kunishige technically committed treason but Ichiki counters, saying it was motivated by saving the life of Princess Chiaki Soga.

While Ichiki suggests this does not absolve Kunishige, it is clear there are two better options: follow through with the Mikaboshi or trust Kunishige Rokuhira.

Inside the Sorcery Bureau headquarters, basement level.

Kunishige wakes up as Ichiki comes in and confirms that Kunishige can begin work, reminding him that this is not just for the Princess but for the country.

We see Chiaki tearfully reunite with her mother and Akemura.

The Masumi says that it will take three months to conduct the blacksmithing safely and the Lifelong Contracts but Kunishige offers to do it in two, which Ichiki protests as they cannot afford reckless stunts.

As redemption for Kunishige’s crimes against the state, he has to work safely and surely to achieve greater results.

So for the three months they have, they will wage all-out war with the Mikaboshi while the Enchanted Blades are being forged.

We see six scrolls containing Kaichi charges, six for the Mikaboshi guardians.

Like the six Enchanted Blades that will eventually arrive.

Ichiki offers all the material Kunishige will need, with Kunishige remarking that he needs a master swordsman.

The chapter ends with Ibuki Misaka, the next Enchanted Blade wielder to be properly introduced, riding a motorcycle.

This only leaves the former Cloud Gourger wielder.

Kagurabachi took a break for two weeks, including the Silver Week Break (September 21).

Kagurabachi Chapter 132 will be released on September 28, 2026.
