Berserk Returns After 9 Months!
After an arduous wait, Berserk will return with a new chapter next month.
On May 20, 2026, on the latest issue of Young Animal, it was announced that Berserk will return on June 12, 2026 with Chapter 384.
The last chapter was Chapter 383: “Anādi Avidyā”, released on September 12, 2025.
With Volume 44 set for 2027, this will be the second chapter in the set, with the volume likely having eight chapters.
This means that between June to potentially the latter point of 2027, there will be six more chapters to go.
There could potentially be another chapter this year, sometime between August to November judging from previous runs.
Last year, Berserk released five chapters, one of the better runs since Miura’s passing on May 5, 2021.
About Berserk
Berserk was originally written and illustrated Kentaro Miura for Hakusensha’s Young Animal Magazine.
Volume 42 was released on December 24, 2021, almost four years ago, and contained the first post-Miura chapters, Chapters 365: “Lull of the Waning Moon” and 373: “Rusty Iron Rings That Bind”.
The Fantasia Arc has been going on since Chapter 308 was published in 2010, around the time Miura began his irregular Berserk releases.
Released on October 1, 1989, Berserk currently has 42 volumes in circulation and reached 70 million copies sold as of August 7, 2025, making it one of the most popular manga of all time and has been hailed as a core influence of the modern dark fantasy genre not only in Japanese manga but also video games, television, movies, comics and other media in Japan and beyond.
Berserk continues the story of Guts after losing Casca to their former Band leader Griffith once again as he, his traveling band, and other refugees enter the Kushan Empire with the help of former Hawk member Rickert and former nemesis Silat.
