The Real Arthur Appears And…ENDS HIMSELF?! Four Knights of the Apocalypse Chapter 238 Spoilers!
After 238 chapters, the real King Arthur reappears but is this the end for him or a new beginning as the King of the Round Table?
In the previous Four Knights of the Apocalypse chapter, Lancelot is easily defeated by the fake Escanor but with Gawain’s blood, they were finally able to meet Merlin.
Four Knights of the Apocalypse chapter 238 is titled, “The King of Determination”
This chapter has 20 pages.
The chapter cover shows Merlin and Gawain together.
The translations provide a warning you should read:

The chapter begins with Merlin snapping her fingers, altering the landscape and she tells Gawain’s group to follow her so that they will talk inside.
Lancelot is still wary and asks if the woman they are with is the real Merlin since, in Gawain’s memories, Merlin had a burn scar around her mouth.
Merlin explains that Arthur was unsure if it was a good idea to show Gawain the hickeys, which also makes Gawain fluster.
Percival asks what hickeys are and Tristan shyly tells him to ask his wives for his own sake as well what hickeys mean.
Isolde being taller than Tristan is why.
Hickeys by the way are marks left from intense sucking or biting on the skin.
They all enter a brightly lit hall, with blocks moving around to open up the room in front of them and they are shocked to find…
The Real King Arthur Pendragon, King of Camelot.
The spread looks great as the Four Knights are in the dark right side and Arthur is in the left, more lit side.
We first saw the real King Arthur at the end of Chapter 216: “A Secret Revealed”, only 7 months ago.
Arthur looks much healthier, having shaved to look like his younger self, with some slight creases under his eyes to show that he is an adult at 34 years old.
Lancelot instinctively attacks Arthur but stops himself, representing Lance holding himself back but also knowing full well this man was not their enemy.
Tristan tells Lancelot to get out of the way for his turn but Lancelot stops him, reminding him that he is not the same Arthur they have been fighting.
When the Knights of Prophecy ask if Arthur is the real King, Arthur laughs, calling him the powerless man who has lost the country and the people he was supposed to protect and unable to lend a hand to those suffering.
Merlin provides a recap of how exactly this happened, which began 18 years ago.
Pages 14 to 15 are a recap of things we already know but the Knights do not: Merlin’s pursuit of Chaos to fill the void of being unable to be with Meliodas and her other thirst for knowledge.
Arthur tells the Knights not to judge Merlin as he sees that the Age of Chaos would have built a newer, better world.
Then she goes into how, after Arthur became Chaos’ vessel, Cath Palug the Scratching Cat emerged, a seemingly harmless creature.
Tristan recalls the name mentioned by Gowther earlier.
Merlin assumed they already stopped Cath but in reality, this was their greatest miscalculation.
Within Arthur, Cath was affecting his personality and Merlin was able to quickly notice it and forcibly separated Cath from Arthur, but by then, he had already absorbed most of Chaos power.
For 18 years, Arthur was kept isolated in this space that was within Camelot, hidden right under Cath’s nose.
Merlin worries that once he acquires the rest of Arthur’s Chaos power, Cath will have gained complete Chaos and will bring an end to the world.
Lancelot is angered at the irresponsibility Merlin caused, being the one who went and released something unfamiliar that was beyond her control.
Lancelot expresses how many Humans and other races were harmed because of Arthur’s imposter and that the Knights of the Apocalypse and the Seven Deadly Sins had to fight him to clean up the mess the real Arthur and Merlin started.
Percival says thatwhile he understands how he feels, Lance is going too far and Gawain does not want
Lancelot speaks out of anger as he reminds Tristan of Jade’s death against Camelot’s knights.
Arthur says that no matter what he says, he will never be able to atone for the people who suffered because of his actions and so he grabs a knife…
And seemingly ends his own life.
It sounds like this is not his end because King Arthur will be alive in the future where the Knights of the Holy Grail serve under him.
How else will Arthur even form his own Round Table consisting of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse?
Four Knights of the Apocalypse Chapter 239 is titled, “The Blood of Atonement” and will be released on May 27, 2026.
