On May 3, 2026, the midterm results for One Piece’s ongoing Second Global WT100 popularity poll have been revealed.

It is confirmed that Toei will make the Top 15 winners part of a new eyecatcher for Season 3 of the One Piece anime in 2027.

For the midterm results, the Top 15 worldwide are the following.

  1. Monkey D. Luffy
  2. Roronoa Zoro
  3. Sanji
  4. Nami
  5. Trafalgar D. Water Law
  6. Nico Robin
  7. Portgas D. Ace
  8. Shanks
  9. Uta
  10. Tony Tony Chopper
  11. Boa Hancock
  12. Rocks D. Xebec (Davy D. Xebec)
  13. Donquixote Rosinante (Corazon)
  14. Sabo
  15. Crocodile (Mr. 0)

While the top 3 being set in stone for the future and all time, we can clearly see how beloved the whole Straw Hat crew is, with 6 of the 9 members in the top 10.

Ace’s lasting popularity is impressive due to his memorable death and in spite of his short stay in the series, from the Arabasta Saga (starting with Chapter 154) up to the Paramount War (his death in Chapter 574)

Uta’s popularity is even more impressive as a movie-only character, reflecting the popularity of the latest film, Film Red, released back in August 6, 2022, nearly 4 years ago and coincidentally, she is immediately behind her adopted father, Shanks, indicating that Shanks voters were likely Uta’s as well.

Although only introduced properly last year in Chapter 1154, Rocks D. Xebec was immediately quite popular, being the most searched One Piece character of 2025.

Considering the placement of the rest of the Top 30, this could also reflect recency bias.

Furthermore, the Top 30 worldwide will be receive original outfits drawn by Eiichiro Oda which will later be sold as merch!

The list is as follows:

  1. Usopp
  2. Yamato
  3. Perona
  4. Rob Lucci
  5. Brook
  6. Loki
  7. Bartholomew Kuma
  8. Buggy
  9. Donquixote Doflamingo
  10. Eustass Kid
  11. Franky (Cutty Flam)
  12. Marco
  13. Charlotte Katakuri
  14. Carrot
  15. Jinbe

It is surprising to see Usopp barely make it to the Top 15 but moreso characters such as Perona surpassing Brook and the placement of Carrot and Jinbe just harks back to the time fans debated who would be the final Straw Hat.

While Kuma is quite popular due to his heroic legacy and incredibly emotional presence in the flashback of the recently adapted Egghead Arc, he is usurpsed by more recent contenders, such as Loki in 21st place due to his cool design and importance to Elbaph and Rocks as stated earlier.

The Top 50 will be part of the One Piece card game.

They are the following:

  1. Dracule Mihawk
  2. Nefeltari Vivi (Miss Wednesday)
  3. Bentham (Mr. 2/Bon Clay)
  4. Smoker
  5. Edward Newgate (Whitebeard)
  6. Rockstar
  7. Cavendish (Hakuba)
  8. Monkey D. Garp
  9. Koby
  10. Kuzan (Aokiji)
  11. Going Merry
  12. Saint Figarland Shamrock
  13. Silvers Rayleigh
  14. Borsalino (Kizaru)
  15. Jewelry Bonney
  16. Enel
  17. Sakazuki (Akainu)
  18. Kaku
  19. Imu
  20. Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard)

It is a shock that Rockstar is placed next to Whitebeard as if cosmic coincidence since he is only primarily remembered for his part in delivering Shanks’ letter to Whitebeard during the Jaya Arc over 24 years ago.

There must be a campaign for him among popular content creators.

Same can be said for Garp, Koby and Kuzan being placed next to each other due to their roles in Garp’s final battle against Kuzan in the Egghead Arc.

It is surprising that the very first character of One Piece, the legend who started it all, Gol D. Roger barely even touches the Top 50, which represents how many iconic characters Oda has made over the years.

In fact, Imu has even joined in even though the main antagonist of One Piece was only introduced 8 years ago.

And coincidentally he is placed with Blackbeard, the much longer-running main antagonist and possible candidate for the final villain of the series.

Voting began on March 4, 2026 and will end on June 11, 2026, with final results to be announced on One Piece Day 2026 on August 22 to 23.
