GUNKO’S TRUE NAME REVEALED! One Piece Chapter 1173 Early Spoilers!

We finally uncover Gunko’s ties to Brook and once again, we are seeing history repeat itself. Over 60 years ago, another Loki came out, a Father-Killing child whose fate would shape One Piece history

ONE PIECE © 1997 by Eiichiro Oda/SHUEISHA Inc.

In the previous One Piece chapter, Brook has vanished, likely to face Gunko, and Zoro has a plan to stop the Domi Reversi Giants.

One Piece Chapter 1173 is titled, “Generation of Warriors”

Zoro’s Bullheaded Plan

Okay, so the plan is simple.

Just jump on the giants and cut them down.

Yep, that’s all.

Zoro jumps onto the heads of the giants and slashes all the Domi-reversed giants.

Brogy and Dorry face off against Zoro, but they end up hitting each other, leaving Zoro and everyone else in shock.

That part was definitely not in the plan.

However, it seems so far Zoro has not done anything remotely involving Conqueror’s Haki, meaning this is only just the beginning.

Brook and Gunko’s Past Connection Revealed

Brook directly confronts Gunko-Imu and this was enough to restore Gunko to normal.

By normal, we mean before having the god complex of a Holy Knight.

Brook reveals the true name of Gunko.

He calls her “Princess Shuri” (or Sherry) and that she is actually royalty from a different family.

She has blue hair and two-toned eyes and although the Manmeyer have blue hair, it is possible Shuri was not originally from the Celestial Dragon clan.

Brook recognizes her features: blue hair and two-toned eyes.

Brook also calls her “the father-killing princess.”

A father-killing prince?

This is definitely a parallel to Loki

This could explain this panel in the flashback in Chapter 1149: “One Second” shows Gunko crying out to her father.

It was not about Brook at all but about the moment she lost her father.

Did she, like Loki, kill her father because he was possessed or that he was abusive to her and the murder of the king, regardless of context, was still a sin?

The man she killed was Brook’s benefactor, likely the king himself.

The term used for the man is “Onjin” (恩/on, and the related 恩人/onjin. On means “kindness, grace, or favor”, ergo favor-person/kindness-person), which is a repeated motif in One Piece, referring to a benefactor but also to anyone a person owes gratitude to due to the kindness shown.

While “onjin” as a title is easily tied to Luffy’s relationship to Shanks, the Japanese would know that such a word is found everywhere in One Piece, where even ordinary people and named characters refer to the Straw Hats as “onjin” after saving their kingdoms.

Luffy also called Bon Clay “onjin” for saving his life.

Gunko wavers from more of her memories being restored.

Brook almost manages to reach her, but Imu takes over again.

Gunko snaps back to reality and prepares to attack Brook but with all her being, even as she is possessed, Gunko shouts at Brook to run away.

There is still more to explore behind her dynamic.

If Gunko had been a runaway princess, did Brook act as her guardian, similar to how Pell or Igaram was to Vivi as speculated in the hints?

Perhaps Brook stayed as her protector until she went missing and then he would become a pirate, likely to look for her?

The New Giant Warriors Together!

Gerd and Goldberg prepare to fire a combo attack at the Mother MMA, which is called “Two Generals Roaring Nation” but Road stops them as wants to take part in the attack too.

So all three of them aim their attacks:

“Three Generals Roaring Nation!”

The attack resembles Dorry and Brogy’s Hakoku “Warrior Nation” attack.

At the end of the chapter, the Mother MMA falls onto Sommers, who strikes it back.

But in doing so, he throws the MMA on the transport ship that was going to hold the kids, thereby messing up the plan.

Sommers is shocked, saying “oh shit”.

Oh boy, is Sommers about to be Saturn’d?

There will be NO BREAK NEXT WEEK

One Piece Chapter 1174 will be released on February 9, 2026.
