In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Soga nearly kills Samura but the Sword Saint now faces off against his nephew Chihiro and the counter to Magatsumi, Enten.

Kagurabachi Chapter 108 is titled, “Enten vs. Magatsumi”

This chapter has 19 pages.

The chapter begins with Soga explaining that since he is a samurai, he views life as only fuel to burn for the sake of a world one sees as ideal and when two samurai differ in their goals, they must fight it out.

While expressing how he does not want to kill his sister’s child, Soga declares Chihiro to be an obstacle to his essential being as a samurai.

We get a cold double page spread of the two standing on floating rubble as Chihiro hits the Shinuchi and the latter vibrates a little.

While heavily injured, Samura explains that when against Magatsumi’s life stealing passive trait, Tobimune’s Suzaku only manages the damage from Magatsumi with palliative care.

Soga observes how Samura has pushed himself to the limit, balancing between healing Chihiro and providing additional offensive power.

So Soga wonders why Samura is not turning off the Suzaku surrounding him.

Samura remarks that this was a dangerous gamble for the future but it is clear both Chihiro and Samura are outmatched against the Sword Saint.

As multiple Kuro goldfish surround Soga, it is stated that in a stage controlled by Magatsumi and its life steal, the Enten blade alone can dance to its tune.

We see Soga face off against multiple Chihiros in the panel attack Soga, who is able to match reaction speed across all directions.

Soga launches Dragonfly and Chihiro counters with Aka, absorbing the attack

While standing on floating rubble, Chihiro analyzes Magatsumi’s power and notes that it is actually straightforward.

Black Spirit Energy is channeled into various “forms” and then unleashed – and these “forms” are essentially without limit.

However, it seems Soga can only use one attack at a time and they take time to load up.

Meanwhile, Soga remarks that while Enten cancels Magatsumi’s passive life drain, if the black Spirit Energy takes the form of a concentrated slash or shockwave, he can counter Enten’s resistance.

Magatsumi’s Black Spirit Energy, the basis of its more than three attacks, is different from Enten’s Kuro because it cuts through “space” itself.

As such, the delay between the action and the result is almost non-existent.

Because even a millimeter’s deviation in a swing like that becomes significantly misaligned over medium to long distances.

Additionally it makes reading Magatsumi’s trajectory exceedingly difficult, which is what led to Soga being able to mow down Samura, one of the greatest swordsmen of the series.

This sounds like Sukuna’s World-Cutting Slash that killed Satoru Gojo in the final arc of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Soga activates Butterfly and the narration explains that from the sword’s swing to the clash piercing the air; the chosen attack happens in a moment too brief to even call an instant.

The attack and its result all happen at the very emergence of a slash

Chihiro’s Rokuhira eyes, which can see the finest detail in things, was able to spot the blade’s trajectory.

And in an amazing double page, within one swift motion, Chihiro reacts to Butterfly and charges through to land a small cut on Soga’s cheek.

Samura is impressed by this impossible feat.

Yes, the combination of Enten being the anti-Magatsumi and Chihiro having his father’s specialized eyes, makes both Enten and its wielder Chihiro the archnemesis of Magatsumi and Soga Akemura the Sword Saint.

Uncle Soga apologizes to his nephew, now acknowledging his game and that he too is a samurai.

As swords clash, Chihiro is taken away by how unparalleled Soga’s actual skill in the blade really was until now.

Except, Soga immediately cuts Enten and stabs Chihiro through the heart as he asks if the heart is to the left, trying to make sure that Chihiro dies.

This is such artistry in the making.

Paralleling Samura’s “betrayal” in Chapter 59: “”, where he only momentarily killed Chihiro and Uruha (akin to Yuta Okkotsu’s fight against Yuji Itadori, again another Jujutsu Kaisen reference).

But this time, Soga makes it clear he has every intent to kill his nephew.

Because Chihiro presented himself as an equal threat, Soga fights with full force.

Is this the end of Enten, Chihiro and the story of Kagurabachi as we know it?

Editor’s note: “Despair, deeper than ever.”

Kagurabachi Chapter 109 will be released on January 26, 2026.
