The Seven Deadly Sins Family Tree Explained

The Seven Deadly Sins and Four Knights of the Apocalypse cast have much deeper connections than fans realize.

By the end of the Seven Deadly Sins manga, the seven heroes have formed their respective families, four with each other, and this has resulted in quite a large and powerful family line.

Lancelot and Nasiens are Cousins

Let’s start with the most direct relations within the series.

In the timeskip when Percival was presumed dead, Nasiens would discover in the Fairy Realm that they were the long-lost child of King and Diane, two of the Seven Deadly Sins and the rulers of the Fairies and Giants respectively, making Nasiens not human but half-Fairy, half-Giant.

This means Lancelot and Tristan were not the only important hybrids and hybrids are crucial to the plot since they are the only types of beings other than humans that are not blocked by the dimensional barrier around Camelot, a barrier made before the existence of hybrids.

On top of this double royalty, Nasiens was also cousins with a Knight of the Apocalypse, Lancelot, who is also a hybrid but a half-Human and a half-Fairy through King’s sister, Elaine.

Nasiens is also the biological sibling to King and Diane’s other offspring, Sixtus, Belte, Zana, Zilian, Phao, and Tioreh , as well as the adopted sibling of Mertyl, a human baby that was swapped from birth and raised initially as a Changeling.

On a fun side note, Nasiens was raised with a full Giant, Dolores, who is their adopted sister.

With Nasiens (and Anghalhad) being Percival’s mate now, what type of offspring will they bear?

Tristan and Percival are Adopted Cousins

During the Demon Realm Arc, it was revealed that Percival had been adopted by the current Demon King, Zeldris, the brother of Meliodas and thus Zeldris’ uncle.

This makes Percival Tristan’s adopted cousin as well.

Considering that Tristan’s mother, Elizabeth, is an adopted daughter of royalty, this dynamic with Percival would work wonders, if it was fleshed out enough.

While Tristan is certainly quite friendly towards Percival since Day 1, both he and Percival clearly have closer dynamics with Lancelot at the center.

Tristan and Chion are Also Adopted Cousins

With Tristan preparing to marry his teammate Isolde, it is time to bring up that the other teammate who lived, Chion, is also Tristan’s cousin.

That is because Chion is the son of Gilthunder and Princess Margaret Liones, Elizabeth’s adopted older sister and Tristan’s aunt.

Chion being Tristan’s best man for the upcoming wedding is just the cherry on top.

And this also makes him Percival’s adopted cousin though this is only through Elizabeth’s marriage to Meliodas, the brother of Zeldris, who adopted Percy.

Quite awkward considering how much of a pain Chion was to Percival was during their introduction.

Tristan Liones, Grandson of Two Gods

A key highlight of the entirety of the Seven Deadly Sins was the passionate 3,000 year-long love story between Elizabeth and Meliodas.

As the offspring of the Supreme Deity and the Demon King respectively, they were opposites but it was their love that triggered the Holy War and led to the creation of the Seven Deadly Sins.

After the war and the death of the two gods, Tristan was born, a nephilim.

Let us also not forget that Tristan was also the descendant of two gods.

Chaos created the Sacred Tree, the Supreme Deity and the Demon King and two of them are sentient beings.

With both gods gone, Tristan’s unification of their Light and Dark makes him potentially a god in his own right.

Cath Palug and the Lady of the Lake

As of the latest chapters, we dived into the origins of two Chaos-related characters and even in their introductions in the King of Chaos Arc, it is confirmed that like the Demon King, Supreme Deity, and the Sacred Tree, Cath Palug and the Lady of the Lake are creations of Chaos but closer than the creator deities since they are embodiments of Chaos.

While one is the Priestess of Chaos and sealed in Lake Salisbury as the “Source of Magic Power”, the other is the embodiment of Destructive Will and was cut off from Chaos.

Gawain and Isolde II Are Cousins

During the Annwfyn Gladiator Festival, we learn that Escanor’s brother, Daymond, is still alive and has been brainwashed as a Holy Knight of Camelot and one of the Four Evils, Beltreipe.

Along with being the adopted niece of King Arthur, her own archnemesis, Gawain is also the actual, biological niece of one of the Four Evils thanks to her origins as Merlin and Escanor’s biological daughter.

Veronica and Griamore’s Son

Besides Elizabeth and Margaret, the youngest sister Veronica also has a child, Dredrin, who is currently a Holy Knight of Liones.

His name is a combination of his grandfather Dreyfus, and the Ten Commandments Demon Fraudrin’s names since Fraudrin was present for and actively cared for Griamore.

To add more to the tree, Griamore is the son of former Great Holy Knight Dreyfus, who is the half-brother of his predecessor Zaratras, who is the father of Gilthunder.

Since Gilthunder and Griamore are half-cousins, this makes Dredrin Chion’s half-cousin once-removed and Tristan’s adopted cousin.

Gowther Has Always Been a Family Friend of the Liones Family

Something barely discussed in the fandom is Gowther’s own familial dynamics.

While he has never made any family, outside of nearly doing so with Guila, he has gained the respect of King Bartra Liones, Elizabeth’s adopted father, because of his connection, more specifically, his romantic relations with Bartra’s sister, Nadja Liones.
