The Ultimate HAKI COMBO! One Piece Chapter 1165 Full Spoilers!

The legendary team up of Garp and Roger has finally happened and it could not have been a more fitting way to end the God Valley Incident

merik_MERIMOtwitter x ONE PIECE © 1997 by Eiichiro Oda/SHUEISHA Inc.

In the previous One Piece chapter, Xebec reveals that Davy Jones might have been the previous world’s king and, now turning into a demon via Imu’s power, begins the legendary battle against Garp and Roger.

One Piece Chapter 1,165 is titled “Echoes”.

This chapter has 17 pages.

We have our second Reader Request in a row: “Bepo laying comfortably with Zeus as a pillow.”

Oda added Law to the cover, and all of them are sleeping on top of a giant sheep, meaning even Zeus has his own pillow in the form of the sheep’s wool.

The chapter starts where the last one ended as Garp asks Roger if he could also hear Xebec’s voice.

With Xebec charging towards them and being bigger than the already larger humans, Garp and Roger prepare their attack.

We see multiple pages of the battle. Roger and Garp’s attacks don’t wound Rocks. The confrontation ends with a colossal clash that creates a massive wave of Conqueror’s Haki.

Roger and Garp crash into the mountains, and the clash splits the sky over God Valley.

What is that now? 5 or so Haki clashes this whole flashback?

We might have lost count. Would that be a bad thing?

Anyway Roger and Garp get up after the clash.

Despite being wounded, they take off their jackets but they still have their little Den Den Mushi to reach their comrades.

Both men tell their respective crews, Garp’s Marines and the Roger Pirates that they will return.

After the conversation, Garp admits that he was ready to arrest both Roger and Xebec while Roger talks about his original plan to save Shakky and get the treasures but now, the two men have no choice but to team up.

For Garp, it is clear he, as a Marine Vice-Admiral, cannot leave a rampaging Xebec alone.

Round 2 begins!

The End of the Rocks Pirates, the beginning of the Four Emperors

At the same time, we see Rayleigh reach their ship and bring Shakky to safety, with the other Roger Pirates arriving with their own pirate booty.

Kyo steals the Rocks Pirates flagship for himself to leave the island, forming his own crew.

Shiki also says that this is the end of the Rocks Pirates.

Linlin and Kaido are shown talking in another part of God Valley.

They are fine despite Rocks’ attack.

Linlin insists on Kaido owing her a life debt while Kaido says that Linlin simply lost the race for the Devil Fruit.

Kaido declares that he will build a crew where violence is law and Linlin competes since she has already set up plans for her own independent crew, with Streusen telling her that they have to go.

The Whitebeard family is Born. Marco’s Father Revealed

In another part of God Valley, Newgate meets the pirate who looks like Marco from the previous chapter, fighting against other pirates.

This is Polo Gram, captain of the Polo Pirates and he clearly resembles Marco, confirming that he is Marco’s father.

This plays into the origin of Marco’s name, the famous 13th century Venetian traveler, Marco Polo.

And since One Piece characters follow the Japanese format for their surnames, it is Polo Marco.

Polo identifies Newgate as the one who split the left mountain and caused it to crash upon the land.

Seeing the end of the Rocks Pirates, Polo makes a proposition.

As a fan of Newgate, Polo wishes to work with him to form a new crew but Newgate tells him to get lost.

Later, he would probably accept the offer since a young Marco ends up on his crew.

Stussy, Ganzui, and Gill Bastar are also running away with several treasures.

Yes, Ganzui was still alive even after Shiki’s attack from last chapter.

Stussy is quite upset with the chaos, asking where Newgate is.

Now she is left all alone without a reason to stay with the Rocks Pirates at this point.

So begins Stussy’s freeloading adventures with the MADS scientists, which includes two affiliates of Kaido, a fellow Rocks Pirate.

Gill Bastar is accompanied by a ghost, who actually resembles Wild Joe, the self-proclaimed “best bounty hunter” from Eiichiro Oda’s first one-shot, Wanted!

While this ghost could be a gag on one of Oda’s early one-shots, it is possible that Gill Bastar might be the previous Horo Horo no Mi user.

Maybe his name is more like “Ghost Bastar”, a pun for Ghostbusters.

So the now deceased Rocks Pirates and their affiliates had the following Devil Fruits, plus their present users:

Captain John: Jiki Jiki no Mi (Magnet Magnet Fruit) – presently used by Eustass “Captain” Kid.

Ganzui: Bomu Bomu no Mi (Bomb Bomb Fruit) – presently used by Mr. 5

Gill Bastar: Horo Horo no Mi (Hollow Hollow Fruit) – presently used by Perona.

All of these will be confirmed by Oda in the coming Volume 114, whether through added text boxes in the volume release or the SBS volume.

Those who have met the Rocks Pirates, particularly Shiki and Kaido, include:

Kurozumi Higurashi: Mane Mane no Mi (Clone Clone Fruit) – presently used by Bon Clay

Kurozumi Semimaru: Bari Bari no Mi (Barrier Barrier Fruit) – presently used by Bartolomeo

We have two present Fruit users from Baroque Works and one connected to Gecko Moria, who revived the corpses of all three former Rocks Pirates listed.

Dragon’s First Revolt, Imu’s Escape

On one of the Marine battleships, Dragon is threatening a higher-ranking Marine with a rifle, demanding that they take some surviving civilians on the ship with them.

The opposite of Akainu’s Absolute Justice later on Ohara, Dragon acts to make sure there are civilians from God Valley who survive.

The squadron leader tells Dragon he will not get away with threatening them but Dragon says “bring it on!”

These are the same words Luffy used in Enies Lobby after ordering Sogeking (Usopp) to burn the World Government flag.

His defiance for the sake of saving Nico Robin made Luffy declare the World Government, in official terms, as his direct enemy.

Now then, where did Kuma take Eris and Teach?

Did they reach Lulusia Kingdom?

Meanwhile, Rayleigh and Gaban decide to return to the island to look for Roger.

The pair tell the other Roger Pirates to leave the island and wait for them.

However, Gaban seems to have found a lady of his own, another Kuja Pirate.

Well, well, looks like the Left Arm of the future Pirate King has something else in his hands, like how the Right Arm was constantly holding onto Shakky

Imu, in normal Saturn’s body but with Imu’s eyes, leaves the island on a World Government ship.

Once more, Imu orders God Valley to be erased from existence.

The narrator explains that Marines from the G-11 base and Cipher Pol 6 erased all information about God Valley and the Hunting Tournament.

This is how no one else but the survivors knew of God Valley.

Only the legend of Garp and Roger working together to stop Rocks remained for the veterans.

We Almost Had Pirate Garp

The battle between Garp and Roger vs. Rocks continues.

Another huge mountain in God Valley is destroyed during the fight.

After being deflected back again, we see Garp and Roger talk to each other.

Roger asks if Garp knew about that “black monster” (Imu) and says that this is not justice.

Garp agrees with the sentiment.

It is here that Roger asks Garp if he will quit the Marines because Roger wants him to join his crew, impressed with his strength and having built a bond of trust during this do-or-die situation.

Garp refuses, saying that no one will protect the Marines if he, the strongest, quits.

Given what Garp has seen, he is not referring to the pirates like Rocks and Roger.

He might be calling out Imu and the World Government that treats Marines like cattle.

He has firmly opposed the Celestial Dragons without restraint yet stays in his job.

He is the elder that stays in the system, not so much waiting for reform but to be that change.

Garp is holding the line to protect the Marines from the abusive powers that legitimize their justice.

In the end though, Garp is fighting a losing battle.

Dragon abandons the Marines to the banality of evil, fighting evil using evil means and without ever

Meanwhile, Garp stays to protect the Marines from internal abuse.

Luffy sees beyond duty and outrage and values people as they are, which is why he accepts Koby’s dream to be the strongest Marine, the position Garp held.

Garp the Haki Expert

In spite of their best efforts, Garp and Roger cannot damage Rocks, because even though they coat their attacks with Conqueror’s Haki, Rocks uses his own Haki to cancel them out.

This is where Garp reveals his true genius in Haki.

Roger explains that Armament Haki is a power that does not yield even to Devil Fruit abilities and that he is also combining this with Conqueror’s Haki, which should be a stronger defense against Rocks’ Haki.

Garp points out that Xebec is guarding with Conquerors Haki, which means this particular Haki would easily cancel out another Conqueror’s Haki, hence why the attacks have to be of a stronger will in a Haki clash.

THE STRONGEST HAKI COMBO IN ONE PIECE

Against this background, Roger suggests pouring all their Conqueror’s Haki together into one attack to overcome Rocks’ guard.

But there’s a problem — after that attack, Roger and Garp will have no strength left.

A massive gamble but it is the only way forward.

Garp agrees with Roger’s plan.

Before they do this, Garp says that he does not know how to console Xebec but only that he understands his regrets, regrets about losing his family.

Xebec, in spite of his transformed state, is still able to express pain, crying.

Just like the victims of the SMILE fruits and Queen’s Ice Oni virus, which could be inspired from Kaido witnessing Domi Reversi on God Valley.

On top of Garp’s empathy for pirates (he says he has no mercy for criminals, but not necessarily pirates, to Ace during his execution), we now see all three legends showing mutual respect.

Then, in the final double-page spread of the chapter, after Roger tells Xebec to stop crying, Roger and Garp use a combined attack to defeat Rocks D. Xebec.

Rogee uses “Hinokagutsuchi no Ace!!” (Kanji means “Wise Man of Flame God”) while Garp lands a barrage of fists called “Infinitum Explosion!!!”

Roger attacks with multiple thrusts that cut Xebec’s body.

Hinokagutsuchi is a fuller name for the kami of fire, Kagutsuchi, a name familiar to Naruto fans as this is the name of Sasuke’s Flame Control technique of his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Interestingly, the name of the attack has the name “Ace”, which happens to be the name of his future sword after the God Valley Incident and the origin of his future son’s name, Portgas D. Ace.

Meanwhile, Garp throws several punches at the same time, similar to Luffy’s “Gomu Gomu no Gatling” and still following the space theme of his attack names that are just fists.

We see both sides of Luffy here: Roger’s pirate tenacity and Garp’s fighting style.

The chapter ends with Rocks’ defeat as the narrator speaks about the legacy of the Rocks Pirates…

This looks to be the end of the God Valley Incident and Rocks portion of the flashback or perhaps the next chapter will reveal Xebec’s final fate, whether he is dead or potentially still alive.

The final narration is as follows:

“The World Government sought to conceal the incident in its entirety.

However, the group under Rocks D. Xebec was an organization of chaos that shaped an era.

The collapse of the ‘Rocks Pirates’ shook the world with its defined echoes…!!”

Sadly, there will be a BREAK NEXT WEEK.

One Piece Chapter 1166 will be released on November 24, 2025.
