THE U-20 WORLD CUP ARC BEGINS! BLUE LOCK CHAPTER 305 SPOILERS!

The new Blue Lock arc has begun! Could this be the final arc of the series or yet another long arc?

BLUE LOCK © 2018 by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and Nomura Yuusuke/KODANSHA.

In the previous Blue Lock chapter, Ego sends Isagi and the other Blue Lock players some recordings to study in preparation for the U-20 World Cup.

Blue Lock Chapter 305 is titled, “x23”

This chapter has 20 pages.

Editor’s note: “The secret ingredient is kindness! With this tenderness, the deliciousness increases!!”

The chapter begins with Teiri Anri making her special yakisoba while Ego is pulling all-nighters to put together training content and paperwork for all 23 players.

When Anri asks about what Ego has been doing during the 14-day break, Ego diverts her attention by asking about how cooking works.

Anri says first she thinks about what she wants to eat, then gathers the ingredients needed.

Ego explains that his own process for winning the U-20 World Cup is similar to cooking.

Now Ego has to find the missing ingredients within these 14 days.

“If you want to be the king again, go there!”

Meanwhile, Shoei Barou is surprised to see that his training guide has led him to a team of really jacked American football (not soccer) players.

The man is utterly confused because this is not the same sport.

This could mean Ego is training Barou to have a strong physique to handle even more intense tackling.

“Learning by teaching. Feel your childhood.”

Meguru Bachira ends up in an elementary school and is greeted by school kids, who are delighted to have a Blue Lock player be their coach, much to Bachira’s surprise.

It seems that this might be training him to be patient but also to exploit his innate flexibility of movement by moving without limits to his imagination.

Maybe this could even teach him how to teach others in the Blue Lock U-20 Team.

But this could also foreshadow Bachira’s own ending, maybe even becoming a football teacher to younger students after finishing his time in Blue Lock.

“Throw away your legs and become a fish”.

Tsurugi Zantetsu and Hyoma Chigiri are both swimming but with different focus areas.

Zantetsu is focused on adaptation, ensuring his legs can be used beyond the logic of football.

“Get an endurable cardiopulmonary at your speed.”

Chigiri, however, has to build up his stamina, which has been a constant side gag and actual health problem for him during matches.

If he is to “live” in Blue Lock, he has to avoid breaking his body too often.

“The answer lies in battle.”

“Become the strongest in hand to hand combat.”

Meanwhile Kunigami Rensuke is sparring with a boxing instructor, which simply means Kunigami might actually use hand-to-hand combat during football.

Which is insane but speaking of which…

We cut to Shidou Ryusei, who apparently was told to do as he pleased within the 14-day period (before dying, in the Ego sense of dying in Blue Lock) and Blue Lock would cover all the costs.

Right now, Shidou is having the time of his life skydiving while having someone on his back.

And Ego tells Itoshi Rin to take a good look at his own ego, saying that destruction is not enough of a desire.

As he meditates, Rin thinks of two people in his mind: his older brother Sae and his archnemesis Yoichi Isagi.

The old sensei in the dogo strikes his head with a stick, which gets Rin really mad as it is the 50th time.

50th time of the day? If so, Rin might as well have a few concussions.

Now we have a good focus on Reo as he is on a treadmill, still hung up by Nagi’s regrets from Chapter 300: “Innocent” .

A good start to Pride Month, thinking about your ex-boyfriend regretting being codependent towards you.

He lies down on the training mat from all the sweaty work, feeling as awful as Nagi, living a life without him.

Did we just skip the Reo depression arc while having two full chapters of Nagi depression? The injustice!

Kidding aside, it is nice to be reminded that Reo also felt just as bad, having no Nagi in his life

Baya, Reo’s butler, arrives with a letter from Blue Lock.

This is Ego’s instruction for him: as a special soldier of Blue Lock, Reo must copy the surviving players’ techniques and become the Master Copy.

Ego assures Reo of his path to becoming Number 1 still remains, something Reo and Nagi have always dreamt about.

Will Nagi and Reo meet again in the football field in some way?

It better not be through the cheap twist of Ego’s hand being forced by Buratsuta as established in Chapter 303: “Blue Lock Japan” but that could still work out for good writing.

After giving the SD card containing the recordings of the other 22 players that came with the letter, Baya worries that Reo’s physical abilities will not be enough for the demand.

Reo assures him that he can do this and it is better he moves his body than his head.

Promising to conquer this assignment, Reo also understands that Ego’s words always have a meaning beyond imagination

This whole line is the start of what everyone else is saying in their own training.

Everyone promises to be the main character during the U-20 World Cup Arc!

The chapter ends with Ego eating Anri’s yakisoba, saying everyone is a striker

We see a note that Ego left for Anri as a sign that he does have a heart…for five seconds.

To Teiri Anri :

“Your yakisoba was delicious.

Make sure to sleep properly in your own room.

Good job, FUCK OFF.”

No.1 times 23 players, the chemical reaction that will follow to become the new fusion of Blue Lock’s rebirth.

Are we headed for another long arc?

The Neo-Egoist Arc is the longest arc in Blue Lock at 151 chapters and is close enough to being one of the longest arcs in manga, surpassing the likes of One Piece’s Wano Country Arc (149 chapters) or Kingdom’s Western Zhao Invasion Arc (147 chapters) but we have yet to see or could conceive of a way for Blue Lock to have an arc as long as Bleach’s Thousand Year Blood War arc (206 chapters) or Naruto’s Fourth Great Ninja War (over 300 chapters).

Can Blue Lock surpass its own longest arc, which has lasted more than 3 years since its publication on November 17, 2021, and maybe even propel the manga to new heights in terms of sales and popularity?

Editor’s note: “Through Ego’s plan, Japan’s No.1 ‘Blue Lock’ striker’s soul will shake the world!!”

Blue Lock Chapter 306 will be released on June 11, 2025.
