Has Nagi’s fire finally returned? And if so, will he return to Blue Lock in time for the World Cup?

BLUE LOCK © 2018 by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and Nomura Yuusuke/KODANSHA.

In the previous Blue Lock chapter, Nagi reunites with Igaguri at the arcade.

Blue Lock Chapter 310 is titled, “Just Quit Already!”

This chapter has 20 pages.

Editor’s note: The two who were taken out into the city by Igaguri’s suggestion…

The chapter begins with Nagi and Igaguri leaving the arcade that night, with Igaguri saying he was going to visit Nagi’s school but one of his classmates said that Nagi always hangs out at the arcade.

They ended up in a playground, with Nagi sitting on some rails.

Nagi viewed Igaguri as a stalker, down to the cap he wore, which is funny.

Igaguri came to Nagi to ask about football, not understanding why he is so indecisive.

Igaguri starts by saying that Nagi should continue playing football, which was what Isagi said in Chapter 300: “Innocent” when Nagi left.

However, Igaguri clarifies these are his own words, his own ego.

That is because in spite of the results, of being kicked out of Blue Lock, he was happy to pursue his dream.

Just like Nagi, Igaguri was satisfied but unlike Nagi, he had no regrets.

He then asks Nagi if he was satisfied, to which Nagi said that even when dissatisfied, there are things you can give up on.

Igaguri, however, says that there are no limits to dreams.

However, while Igaguri felt satisfied leaving Blue Lock, he could tell that deep down, Nagi was not at all satisfied.

Later, Nagi would tell Igaguri about being recruited by the shady Burastuta through a secret route but this made Igaguri upset since he wondered why he was not chosen.

Nagi tells Igaguri that he turned down the offer so he cannot betray Blue Lock, much to the latter’s shock.

Igaguri was not satisfied with Nagi’s reasoning for turning down a good offer, saying that if anything, refusing to go back is a betrayal of Blue Lock and thus a betrayal of his dream to be the world’s best striker.

Igaguri then attempts to ragebait Nagi, saying that if Nagi’s dream was so weak he would give it because of what others think, then he should just quit already.

Igaguri says that his own parents were against his dream and so by entering Blue Lock, he was fully resolved to abandon his home.

“Either ‘work at a temple for the rest of my life if I lose’… or ‘become a pro at soccer’”

So on those scales, Igaguri staked his dreams,

As he drops his cap, we get some wisdom from Igaguri here as he says that humans can only truly commit when their intent and precision are perfectly balanced.

Nagi had precision but lacked intent and it seems he learned nothing from the Episode Nagi spinoff, about the fear of “death”, something Igaguri calls him out on, saying that Nagi lost because he never considered what would happen if his dream did not come true.

Igaguri shows some envy, saying that if he had Nagi’s talent, he would 100% commit to becoming the best in the world, regardless of the struggle.

Igaguri calms down, saying Nagi’s life is his own.

Nagi, however, thanks Igaguri for coming to see him and that he will become a good monk, which Igaguri rebuffs, saying he refuses to be a monk.

Picking up his cap, Igaguri watches as Nagi leaves.

The fire is slowly burning back within Nagi.

2 DAYS UNTIL THE U-20 WORLD CUP.
