This is Why Rayleigh is Called the DARK KING! One Piece Chapter 1161 Early Spoilers!
This chapter is a fulfillment of agenda piece as Garp continues his never-ending upscale and Rayleigh, the predecessor of Zoro, dethrones the woman-loving Gaban as the romantic hero of the God Valley saga.
In the previous One Piece chapter, we see the start of the God Valley Incident as Dragon saves Shanks and Shamrock while the Roger and Rocks Pirates clash with each other and Garling’s Holy Knights.
One Piece Chapter 1161 is titled, “A Poem of Love Bound Amid a rain of arrows”
It has been a while since Oda was cooking a creative chapter title.
The rain of arrows is definitely a reference to Gunko’s Aro Aro no Mi but also the chaos of the entire God Valley Incident since so far, the early spoilers do not bring up Gunko at all.
We see a color spread and the normal cover story.
The color spread shows the Straw Hat crew playing in a hook machine, which is what one of the hints was talking about.
We return to Volume 43 of the Oni Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage as Yamato, Momo and Kinemon are praying in the shrine.
First, we see Dragon face off against the Holy Knight woman with sharp fangs, who fires a laser beam at him.
This could mean that the Holy Knight is some sort of Mythical Zoan, quite possibly the previous owner of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model Qilin that is currently held by Rimoshifu Killingham, who is also a member of the Holy Knights.
Before Dragon gets killed by the woman, Whitebeard saves him without realizing it.
Many of the Rocks Pirates betray Rocks, so Whitebeard, Linlin and Kaido team up to beat them.
Three of the Four Emperors join forces to protect Rocks, showing a surprising level of loyalty for a crew that is made of disloyal pirates.
Garp appears and attacks them.
Linlin attacks Garp with a fire attack, possibly using Prometheus but this does nothing to Garp.
The trio run away from Garp because they have no time to fight even though Kaido wanted to fight Garp.
Garp did show up in one of Kaido’s flashbacks, showing his respect for him.
He could have appeared in the ladder of legends alongside Roger, Rocks, Whitebeard and Shanks but perhaps this is because this is a hierarchy of pirates and not strictly of the strongest.
Both Roger pirates and the Rocks pirates, including Whitebeard, Linlin, Shiki and Kaido, are about to meet in God Valley City for their final clash.
Amidst the chaos, Shakky got away by herself but Sommers got her and almost killed her
Rayleigh shows up and defeats Sommers with a powerful attack.
It seems the one who traumatized Sommers was not Gaban but Rayleigh.
This sounds like Zoro propaganda if you think about it.
Rayleigh or Zoro, rather than the woman-loving Gaban or Sanji, save the day.
Rayleigh wins Shakky over, causing Roger and Gaban to cry in tears.
This does work in a way because Rayleigh never needed to earn affection or be rewarded but rather this is a show of Rayleigh’s commitment to a woman he already loved.

One Piece Chapter 1162 will be released on October 6, 2025.
