The Origin of Isagi’s Ego Explored! Blue Lock Chapter 322 Spoilers!
We finally have a flashbck to Isagi’s origins and kid Isagi was a totally different person back then, nothing like the villain he is today!
In the previous Blue Lock chapter, Onazi slowly uncovers his ego while Isagi calls out how shallow Nigeria’s ego is.
Blue Lock Chapter 323 is titled, “Myself”
This chapter has 20 pages.
Editor’s note: “The final act in the match against Nigeria has started! Japan leads with a new ego!”
The announcers are screaming that there are only 15 minutes left in the match.
The crowd is roaring in excitement and we see the substitution board being held up.
The chapter begins with a player change, with Ransei Kurona and Jingo Raiichi joining the game, replacing Hiori and Chigiri.
A good choice to reserve Chigiri’s stamina in particular.
As the match restart, Ego tells Blue Lock to end Nigeria’s run with a zero.
Now we get into a flashback of Chapter 304: “Dream” where Isagi reads Ego’s letter for him and his homework: to find the source of his ego within himself.
This leads into his Europe trip to watch football matches, where he met Bunny Iglesias in Chapter 307: “Bunny”.
We cut to a flashback of Isagi’s childhood, where Isagi was quite different, crying over a mosquito while being comforted by his mother Iyu while his father Issei remarks that Isagi is scared of everything, even raindrops.
As it turns out, Isagi’s dad was the one who introduced him to football, taking the whole family to the stadium.
To the surprise of his parents, Isagi is calm in this noisy, overwhelming and large stadium full of cheering crowds.
Seeing a football match for the first time radically changed Isagi’s demeanor as he began wanting to be a football player.
Current Isagi realizes that the human instinct for hunting that Ego mentions throughout this match have been awakened at that point.
By desiring strength, he became engrossed in himself, in ego.
However, Isagi remarked that as he grew, that feeling was buried, becoming just part of the team.
But it was in meeting Blue Lock that he fully understood himself, the “curiosity to myself”.
We cut back to the match between Raichi and Kurona against Onazi as Raichi blocks Onazi and Kurona makes his shot via a pincer attack.
Bello tries to steal the ball but Isagi catches the ball before it reaches Nigeria, all the while declaring his goal in football is to encounter his new self, the aim being boundless evolution.
