SWORD SAINT VS CHIHIRO AND SAMURA! Kagurabachi Chapter 105 Spoilers!

By effortlessly cutting down Samura, the most skilled swordsman shown in Kagurabachi, Soga Akemura has reminded the fans why he is the “Sword Saint”.

In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, we witness Yura’s memories from after the Seitei War and in response to them, Soga Akemura possesses Yura’s body to activate Magatsumi’s full power.

Kagurabachi Chapter 105 is titled, “Shapeshifting”

This chapter has 19 pages.

Editor’s note: “In front of the encroached Yura, what will they do..?!

Volume 10 releasing on the 5th of January!”

The chapter begins where we left off as Samura jumps on Yura and looks at the planted Shinuchi that is stuck on the ground.

He worries about the sword being unsheathed, which would be impossible because only the Sword Saint Soga Akemura can do that with his own hands as the Lifelong Contractor.

However, Samura knows this feeling, that the sword is about to be unsheathed.

Samura adds his own Suzaku to Chihiro’s yet is surprised that this inferno of mercy is still not enough.

Samura senses that Yura’s body is seemingly no longer encroached yet the Shinuchi is still connected to it, which means that the Suzaku is not treating the Shinuchi as a foreign presence but a part of it and thus Yura’s body has been possessed.

We see Yura’s body but this time, it is the Sword Saint in control and finds himself in a clothing store.

Touching Yura’s tie, Soga remarks that suits do not match the aesthetics of the Enchanted Blade Shinuchi

He spots a mannequin wearing a more traditional kimono and decides to put it on for himself.

Seeing all of this makes Samura quiver in fear as he recognizes his voice and scent and recalls the battle to put down the Sword Saint.

After folding Yura’s clothes neatly and leaving his shoes behind, Soga puts on the kimono and sandals while casually breaking the window and floating in midair.

While floating, Soga greets Samura and digs how Samura got his eyes fixed.

We see how Soga actually talks more casually than most characters, even more than the lax Yura, which contrasts his dignified, traditional and, dare I say, nationalistic appearance.

After all, for Soga, the Shinuchi is “the weapon of the state of Japan”.

Remembering what Yura said, that the Sword Saint was sane, Samura reveals he already knew that.

Every one of the Enchanted Blade users knew the truth: that Soga was completely sane when he committed genocide.

It was just that there was no proper explanation for scholars to give to the public besides assuming the Sword Saint was in “delirium” due to the significant size of Magatsumi’s insects.

However, the Enchanted Blade contractors knew Soga very well and the reason why he was chosen to wield Kunishige’s masterpiece, the Shinuchi.

It was because Soga held remarkable mental strength, which explains his  latent ability and conviction to create the Malediction, his sanity for 18 years in a void without moving an inch, as well as his ability to control Yura’s body so easily.

Samura concludes that Soga Akemura is on a whole other level and has reset the battle essentially.

Soga remarks that he was fine with dying in his cell and seems rather calm about his sealing but he tells Samura that he cannot beat him with logic and theories, the same way people have tried to rationalize the Malediction.

The moment he chose to kill all 200,000 Shikoku Island residents, he saw that his role was over and did not mind being judged by the world.

Soga might have been inspired by Eren Jaeger to a certain extent: a surprisingly stable man who chose to go beyond the realm of normal and accepted it but he lacks Eren’s innate insecurities and self-hatred so far.

This could be a facade too, who knows.

However, it seems like Soga is prepared to continue his role as the villain who will wipe out evil like Yura wanted to do himself.

Becoming the hero Yura needed.

For the first time in 18 years, Magatsumi is unsheathed.

We see all the black matter ooze out along with what seems to be the dust and rust within the unused Enchanted Blade.

The black matter covers the whole building that Soga was on.

Soga then remarks that one thing did bother him: why exactly did his brother Kunishige seal the Enchanted Blades.

Chihiro prepares to attack and Soga sees this as the answer, as if confirming that Kunishige’s intentions was to prevent another Malediction.

Soga activates Butterly to cut the building Samura was on in half.

The effect here is amazing as we see Hokazono also slice up the panel itself.

Is Samura okay even as we see two or more buildings get sliced in half by one swing of Magatsumi?

Perhaps he teleported with Crow.

By effortlessly cutting down Samura, the most skilled swordsman shown in Kagurabachi, Soga Akemura has reminded the fans why he is the “Sword Saint”.

The chapter ends with Soga Akemura remarking that Chihiro had grown up, indicating that the Sword Saint really did live with Chihiro’s family prior to the war as Kunishige’s brother-in-law.

What is strange is that Chihiro is currently 18 years old, exactly the same amount of time that Uncle Soga was gone and sealed away from the outside world.

How would Soga have sensed Chihiro or even met him?

Would this have anything to do with Soga’s sister, Chihiro’s mother?

Anyway, the worst-case scenario has happened.

Soga Akemura, the Sword Saint, has been unleashed after 18 years.

Editor’s note: “And so, their worst fears come true..”

Kagurabachi Chapter 106 will be released on December 22, 2025.
