In the previous Sakamoto Days chapter, Sakamoto is cut down by Uzuki’s Rion personality.

Day 220 is titled, “I Will Save You”

This chapter has 19 pages.

Editor’s note: “Slur’s blade pierces through Sakamoto-”

While Kumanomi rejoices with Sakamoto’s death, Uzuki reminds her that he is not quite dead and prepares to cut his head.

As Sakamoto thinks about his family and friends, Shin arrives to save him, seemingly using his telepathy to command Uzuki to stop.

Guess that one shot has been used up to save Sakamoto.

Kindaka grabs Sakamoto with his incredible speed.

While Shin looks at Sakamoto’s grim condition, Oki prepares to attack from behind but Boiled and Heisuke runs over him with a van.

Gozu breaks the front window and prepares to electrocute them but Boiled punches his face.

Heisuke notices the van is not moving and that is because Kumanomi is using her electromagnetic robotic right arm to stop it.

With his sniping rifle, Heisuke shoots her right shoulder, allowing them to move.

Shin takes the wheel and they reach a speeding train, landing on top of it.

Now they are headed into a tunnel but the collision crushes the van.

The group manage to get inside the train and take a break as they put Sakamoto down on the floor.

Shin attempts to resuscitate him and asks Heisuke to cover the wound but Kindaka says that it is best to let Sakamoto die with dignity.

Shin refuses to accept an assassin’s fate, saying that even if it was his turn to die, he would refuse to die this way.

Shin says he is nowhere near Sakamoto’s level and laments his uselessness.

However, Shin recalls that after the heart stops beating, the brain is still alive for a few more minutes.

Combined with his mind-jacking ability, Shin realizes he could theoretically bring Sakamoto back to life by commanding his brain to move his heart.

And so Shin literally moves Sakamoto’s heart with mind-jacking.

Yep, he is taking the Bruno Bucciarati route.

Taro Sakamoto might have a short lifespan and end the story on his own death.

If this is not a sign of a final arc coming up, I do not know what is.

Ever since the Tunnel Effect chapter, Sakamoto Days has been losing its sense of stakes but finally, with Shin’s attempt to bring him back in quite possibly the most do-or-die way possible, we might feel something with the resolution of the current New JAA Arc.

If Sakamoto returns like Bucciarati, essentially a revenant or zombie, he will be a fighting machine, potentially reviving his old heartlessness, except that cold touch will be for the sake of protecting Aoi, Hana and the whole Sakamoto Family until Kei Uzuki, his killer, is finally dead.

Just as Uzuki promised to finish Sakamoto off by cutting his head, maybe we might see, not necessarily end with, Sakamoto preparing to take Uzuki’s life, only for a last minute change, recalling his life with the Sakamoto Family and Rion’s legacy, which would allow Sakamoto to save Uzuki’s soul and his own, while he or even both of them pass on from this cruel world.

Or this revival will be even more convenient, as Sakamoto will live on and this might be the last time Sakamoto ever experiences a fatal loss.

Let us find out to the end.

Editor’s note: “Will Shin’s feelings reach him?”
