What is Zoro Cooking? One Piece Chapter 1172 Early Spoilers
What do you think is Zoro’s plan against Imu and the Giant Demons?
In the previous One Piece chapter, the longest flashback of One Piece is over and we return to the main story as Loki is freed, slaying the Draugr with Ragnir’s Niflheim ice.
One Piece Chapter 1172 is titled “This Is the Elbaph That I Love”
The cover page this time is still a request and it is a simple one: Bon Clay with some swans.
Sadly, there will be no Bon Clay cover story like we predicted in the hints, which means no potential Doflamingo escape.
The chapter begins as a recap of events, with maps and character locations being shown.
Jarul reveals the truth behind Harald’s death and that Loki is not the villain.
With this, as the interim ruler of Elbaph since Imu’s usurpation
It is mostly a recap chapter, with characters and maps explaining where everyone is in Elbaph.
Jarul tells everyone in Elbaph the truth about what happened on the day Harald died, and he also states that Loki is not guilty.
Jarul declares war on the World Government, and all the giants of Elbaph agree with him.
Imu/Gunko and the “Knights of God” (Sommers and Killingham) are shown preparing to fight.
The other Straw Hats—Jinbe, Nami, Robin, and Usopp—are still bound by Gunko’s arrows. Jinbe says that Brook looks like he “realized something” and took off on his own.
Brook is absent.
He seems to be moving on his own like Sanji.
In fact, it feels like this member of the Pervy Trio (Sanji, Franky and Brook) has taken Sanji’s original spy role since Whole Cake Island as the MVP who took a copy of Big Mom’s Poneglyph.
Brook might have remembered who exactly Gunko was.
We might get a mini-Brook flashback soon and he will be the first to confront Imu-Gunko to try and free Gunko from Imu’s grasp but fail.
However, the stirring of memories will still be in effect.
In the final panels of the chapter, Hajrudin and the others arrive at the location of the Giants who have fallen under the Domi Reversi spell.
They know that if they get caught between those affected by Domi Reversi, they are “done for.”
In the last panel of the chapter, after hearing this, Zoro says: “I’ve got a plan!”
Now what exactly is Zoro cooking?
The last time Zoro had a cool plan, it involved targeting the gigantic Pica during the Dressrosa Arc.
And he thought of five strategies, before choosing to target the real body hidden within, which was the smartest plan.
Considering that Zoro is now dealing with real Giants turned into infectious demons that can turn anyone into Imu’s slaves and not ones made of regular stone, he might try something less meatheaded.
It is either Zoro using the others as bait to take down the Giants or something smarter at play.
Or we might get a callback to Dressrosa here.
As for matchups, we can see this happening:
Sanji vs Dorry and Zoro vs Broggy because both men sat on the heads of these giants in the cover of Chapter 117: “Dorry and Brogy”.
We are entering the 1170s, which could be well-timed once again by Oda.
Perhaps Hajrudin will rescue the others once Zoro opens the path.
Luffy and Loki will arrive fashionably late to confront Imu.
There will be NO BREAK NEXT WEEK.
One Piece Chapter 1173 will be released on February 9, 2026.
