We now see who captured the Straw Hats and it is either just a big nerd cosplaying as a Sun God or Prince Loki of Elbaf.

In the previous One Piece chapter, the Straw Hats find themselves trapped in a mysterious Lego castle surrounded by giant animals and seemingly escape. But not all is as it seems.

Here are early chapter spoilers courtesy of Pewpiece

Chapter 1128 is titled,  “RPG” (written as “アールピージー” in Japanese)

The title is interesting as it not only references what happens in the chapter but it happens to be the name of a song played by SEKAI NO OWARI, the band behind One PIece’s 25th opening , “The Peak”, which is the first opening to feature Gear 5.

Perhaps there is a deeper link there.

To begin, we see a color spread showing the Straw Hat crew resembling wizards from Hogwarts and riding on broomstikcs to the sky together with a massive dragon.

Robin is wearing glasses by the way.

This was based on two reader requests for Color Spreads combined into one work of art, one for “Straw Hat crew having a barbecue with a dragon atop a volcano” and another for “Wizard Straw Hat crew flying with a black cat’:

The chapter begins in “Bigstein Castle’ as Sanji carries Nami and leaps off from the castle with Luffy, Zoro and Usopp in tow.

They descend to the entire kingdom that seems to be made of Lego pieces with the massive Yggdrasil tree in the middle.

They arrive to the land below and we can see that the entire kingdom is made of Lego pieces with the huge Yggdrasil tree in the middle, which could indicate this landmass is just one of the nine realms.

Zoro reveals that he found himself on the other side ofthe town and followed the noise, which turned out to be Luffy defeating the Ear God, the giant rabbit revered by the Giants in the last chapter.

Luffy says that Usopp should already be strong enough to defeat the lion on his own but Usopp insists he was in a state of panic, unable to quite think clearly.

However, Usopp observes something surprising, that for a kingdom of Giants, they seem to have outfits made for the normal-sized Straw Hats.

Another observation is how only the normal human Straw Hats are present so far. No tiny Chopper, no massive cyborg Franky or big Fishman Jinbe.

So the Straw Hats decide to head for the giant town to ask them what is really going on.

Before they reach the town, they spot a bearded man who wears a similar giant’s outfit to the Straw Hats and is riding a giant grasshopper.

The bearded man explains that this place is the “Land of Gods”.

The only place in the Blue Sea that is called the Land of the Gods is the Red Line when the Lunarians occupied it before the Void Century and the occupation by the Celestial Dragons.

The “Gods” that rule here, however, are giant animals, such as the “Ear God”, a massive rabbit, the “Spike God”, the giant hedgehog, and “Iskat”, the giant cat.

Now there is a pattern.

The cat with the crown, Iskat, is the cat that rules Bigstein Castle.

The other “gods” rule their own castles and territories.

Now it seems as if the Giants are subservient to giant animals.

Granted, we have already seen giant animals that are not Sea Kings or other fanciful creatures, with Zunesha as the biggest one of all, but pay attention to what animals are treated with worship and how they are referred to by the Giants.

A race that is more than twice the height of the largest human, Big Mom, worships what appear to be small animals to humans: rabbits, hedgehogs, cats, and many of them also happen to be pets.

Almost like every person here, from the Straw Hats to the Giants, are living in some sort of toy box full of Lego buildings.

The bearded man mentions the “Ear God” Incident in which the giant rabbit was burned to death outside town, which Luffy apologizes for but Usopp covers his mouth while Zoro, Nami and Sanji look away and whistle to avoid getting attention.

The bearded man offers to let them through the town to eat some “rations” as long as they do not go to the other side of the castle.
Rations? And sacred fear of giant animals like the people of Shandora?

Alright, it is becoming clear by this point that they are not in a land of Giants but a land of tiny toys, with the giant animals ruling as gods beyond everyone’s control.

Also it is interesting how this land of great warriors is a lot more docile than expected, almost like they are not giants at all.

Anyway, Luffy is annoyed that he is being restricted from going somewhere.

Luffy wants to be the freest so don’t stop him.

But then, the bearded guy made the biggest mistake of his “life”.

The man says that the “Sun God’s Temple” on the other side is guarded by ferocious guardians and that NO ONE has ever approached the temple and RETURN to tell the tale.

Nami looks scared, as the way the man phrases it motivates Luffy to make a really funny facial expression that every One Piece fan loves and Nami dreads and makes a run for it.

Zoro is interested in the dangerous guardian beasts and runs after Luffy while Sanji scolds Zoro for always going with Luffy’s flow.

However, Luffy notices that the road seems too long and the whole town too wide until he eventually hits an invisible wall that breaks in front of him.

This turns out to be a mirror and the sky and scenery were simply mirror reflection.

The people in Lego town were shocked to see the sky break above them and when Luffy crosses the mirror, he falls down to the floor from quite a distance.

Looking up, Luffy realizes that the entire Lego kingdom is actually a model or diorama placed in a giant’s room.

The diorama itself is within a glass-covered cage and within the glass walls are mirrors.

However, when looking from the outside, the whole cage looks like a fish tank, which allows people from the outside to view what is going on inside.

The cage is quite massive, occupying a large part of the room, reaching the top of the room and the front part of the cage has a huge grille with a door to fit a giant.

There were some stairs leading to it blocked by a giant wood table.

Atop the giant wood table are fabrics, threads and a giant sewing machine.

There are also plenty of LEGO pieces disperse in the floor of the room where Luffy fell, indicating that the entire diorama was made by hand, down to the clothes worn by the dolls.

Their captor was intricate in the doll work.

Nami panics at the overwhelming sight and Sanji realizes that they are kept here like pets in a rather elaborate cage, almost like their captor had been waiting for them to arrive on Elbaf.

Suddenly, they hear a mysterious voice from around the room, asking about the noise and if they are on their side.

This is not their captor but Chopper, who was held captive outside the cage and is on the giant wood table.

Brook now has a companion in the “I became someone’s bedside toy” club, although Chopper makes sense as he is a cute reindeer.

Considering how small Chopper is, being a giant’s near crumb-sized toy must be a horrific experience.

Zoro breaks him free, and Chopper cries as he hugs Nami, who says that Chopper now owes him.

Classic Nami extorting debts out of everyone, even the ones she loves.

Usopp and Zoro examine the stuff on the table while Luffy checks around the floor.

Zoro wonders if how in this room for Giants, a Giant is able to dress up tiny humans with human size clothing, almost like they were dolls and Usopp thinks the “Sun God” is quite the delicate person to perform such a feat of precision.

Luffy notices that the entire room is full of blocks, which could mean either that the whole house is made of Legos or that, just like the fake Giant town, everyone is living in Lego houses.

Sanji noticed that the Lego blocks are made with a synthetic resin, which could validate this idea we brought up about a Lego devil fruit.

The smell of the resin is quite unbearable as when they roasted the rabbit as a meal, it caused the Lego’s scent to spread all around them.

Perhaps it also helped that the houses being made of this odd material kept Sanji and the rest from noticing anything suspicious.

The Straw Hat crew look around and Sanji assumes that this whole giant room is actually the “Sun God’s Temple” and Zoro thinks that the normal humans trapped in the diorama are just pets for the “Sun God” to observe.

This could mean that the Straw Hats were only treated as human invaders for the “Sun God” to capture and not anyone special.

Otherwise, why would the “Sun God” be surprised by the destruction of the diorama?

Suddenly two new giant animals appear in the giant room: “Hilmungandr” (a giant snake, its name is based on the World Serpent “jormungandr” in Norse mythology) and “Muginn” (a giant raven with a skull on its head, its name is a mix of “Muninn” and “Huginn”, Odin’s ravens in Norse mythology).

Luffy and the other fight against them, wrecking stuff of the room and making the real room catch fire.

This sounds like how Chapter 1127 began, with a fire and a giant rabbit being defeated.

We cut to the outside the room, we see that “Sun God” is walking down a corridor towards the room

The room door has a “Z” symbol embedded on it, which could indicate the Giant’s real name.

The “Sun God” is a giant far larger than any normal giant we saw so far (besides Oars) but we determine if the figure is a man or a woman, although they are wearing heeled shoes, which does not say much.

“Sun God” is a slim giant that wears a black long tunic and a deer skull (with big antlers and mane) that covers his/her face.

“Sun God” has a staff and a shield with the Sun symbol.

The slim figure of the “Sun God” seems to be similar to the Yeti Cool Brothers, Rock and Scotch.

Interesting, the Yeti Cool Brothers are both 25 years old, which is quite young in Giants’ ages as Hajrudin was 18 years old when he was a child that could resemble someone older than a five year old human child (which Big Mom was in her flashback, where Hajrudin appeared in as a child).

As proven with the Ancient Giants such as Oars and his descendant Oars Jr., there are different types of giants.

Either the fake “Sun God” is of the same group of giants as the Yeti Cool Brothers, being unusually large but also unusually slim, or they are a child, somewhat older than either the yetis or an 18 year old Hajrudin.

We also have to take into account the silhouette from Chapter 1124, who appears to be drinking and to either have a tail, long hair, a hat or something behind them.

The “Sun God” gets in the room as they notice smoke and noise coming from inside and is shocked to see Luffy destroying the place while fighting the giant animals.

Luffy activates his Gear 5 and is laughing in the middle of the fire that is burning the room, thriving in the chaos, just like he did offscreen in Chapter 1127 when the rabbit got cooked.

Then Luffy uses “Gomu Gomu no Dawn Pistol” to defeat the giant snake while Zoro defeats the giant crow.

Then the Straw Hat crew enters into the diorama to evade the rampaging “Sun God” and they encounter the giant cat “Iskat” again.

Iskat gets upset but the Straw Hats hit his head and get on the giant animal while Nami shows them a map she found that seems to lay out the massive room.

Chopper seems to understand Iskat’s rage as he notes that the cat will remember this humiliation.

Nah, that kitty will eventually join the Straw Hats like every animal sidekick.

Chopper does not count, World Government.

In the AMAZING final double page of the chapter, we see the Straw Hat crew riding lskat through the diorama town with “Sun God” chasing them, with the people in town in shock.

Nami realizes that they will have to break through another mirror to escape the fake world but the “Sun God” is angrily trailing behind them.

This chapter finally clarifies everything that has been happening for over a month but we have yet to see the real Elbaf.

This means that the reveal of the real Elbaf, the real Yggdrasil, and the Giants themselves, will be quite massive, so look forward to a major adventure.

The chapter also shows that the RPG reference is less of the area as a video game-like illusion or a Matrix-like simulation but rather an enforced roleplay by a giant childlike being that wants humans to be part of their little kingdom.

A big nerd, in other words.

This could mean that the “Sun God” is Loki, the Prince that was promised to Big Mom’s daughter Lola until she tricked the Prince by switching with her twin Chiffon due to Lola’s refusal to marry Loki, leading to the vendetta between the Giants and Big Mom.

Loki does have a crown but unlike the mysterious figure, Loki is not exactly slim or built like a Yeti but considering Oda’s track record with silhouettes (the original Seven Warlords and Kaido), this impression could easily change.

Alternatively, it could be another Giant figure who lacks the power to overcome all of this and is seemingly doing this by themselves, hence the elaborate outfit to appear like a god over the tiny humans.

Now the Straw Hats have ruined playtime for this person.

Will the fake “Sun God” be a friend or a foe?

Either way, we will see where the story takes us.

There will be NO BREAK next week.
