Oda WASTED Usopp’s 26 Years of Character Development With This Moment! One Piece Chapter 1177 Early Spoilers!
In spite of making a brave speech in front of the literal God of the World Government, Usopp ends up only becoming a sacrifice piece to fuel Luffy’s rage against Imu.
In the previous One Piece chapter, Sanji takes on Killingham while Franky acquires a new type of cola power source.
One Piece Chapter 1177 is titled, “Anger”
This chapter has 17 pages.
Oh no, yet another reader request.
Reader request in the cover: “Robin planting flowers with moles.”
Killingham’s Easy Fall
Zoro’s group launched an attack on the Domi Reversi Giant Army.
Chopper, in Monster Point, joins the battle and strikes a Domi Reversi Giant, resulting in the giant reverting to his normal form.
Meanwhile, Sanji’s group successfully restrains Killingham, resulting in his body being split apart from each other.
Sanji hands Killingham’s head to Jinbe while he and Franky tie up Killingham’s legs.
Killingham screams in agony as he’s unable to regenerate.
Wait, unable to regenerate?
Did Sanji use Conqueror’s Haki without us realizing it?
Usopp’s Big Moment
Angered by the oppression upon Elbaph, Usopp confronts Imu and here we see a defining moment where he stands, shouting to Imu that Elbaf is the land of warriors.
Usopp calls Imu out for using cowardly tactics to fight the Elbaf warriors and that he should fight with his own hands directly.
Usopp fires an explosion shot at Imu, but Imu moves quickly, almost as if by teleporting, appearing in front of him.
The massive explosion hits both Usopp and Brook, causing them to lie unconscious.
At the end Luffy is angry upon seeing Usopp and Brook defeated.
Uhhh, is there a male version of fridging because…Oda kinda wasted Usopp here.
Kinda is an understatement.
Imagine an arc like Little Garden, where Usopp learns the true meaning of courage, not the lack of fear but the ability to face it, especially when fighting for one’s honor and one’s friends.
Elbaph is the land of warriors who fight for both their pride and for the love of their families.
And yet here, even though Usopp stands bravely as a powerless advocate for such belief, is essentially treated as a sacrificial pawn to empower Luffy and Loki to action.
Something that would already happen regardless of what happens to him.
Usopp is inconsequential to Elbaph.
This is in complete contrast with Dressrosa, where Usopp was accidentally important by knocking Sugar out.
And he awakened Observation Haki there too!
And he got his new moniker “God Usopp”.
And yet none of this plays into Elbaph at all.
Usopp is a cheerleader who exists to be frigid for the sake of Luffy doing what he is already going to do.
The chapter ends with Luffy and Loki finally meeting Imu in person and vice-versa.
Imu declares that this battle will divide the world.
Editor’s note: “At last, they meet in person”
There will be NO BREAK NEXT WEEK
One Piece Chapter 1178 will be released on March 30, 2026.
