Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 Spoilers: Yuji Itadori Lands 8 Black Flashes And Surpasses His Uncle Sukuna!?

The spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 are out and it looks like Gege be flooding those Yuji Itadori stonks and giving non-Sukuna fans some huge doses of copium as Yuji is officially confirmed to be stronger than the King of Curses by the manga’s editor!

Yuji’s awakening in chapter 256 unleashed his true potential, hence the 8 Black Flashes.

But does that mean he is actually the strongest in the verse? Naah, if only JJK powerscaling was so simple…

At this point, Yuji is definitely in the Top 5 strongest JJK characters but still pales in comparison against Gojo or Sukuna if you’re checking all stats. Nevertheless, the prodigious young sorcerer is currently giving Sukuna a run for his money.

Not only that, Sukuna drops a HUGE BOMBSHELL that partially confirms a popular fan theory!

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 Spoilers:

According to Myamura on Twitter, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257 opens with a brief flashback featuring Sukuna and Uraume discussing Yuji.

The mysterious power that Yuji possesses solely as a result of the residual cursed energy that Sukuna left behind before their separation intrigues Uraume, who asks Sukuna about his identity.

It is then that Sukuna reveals Jin Itadori, Yuji’s father, was actually his twin back in the Heian era and ate him in their mother’s womb just to not starve to death.

After that, the twin’s soul went through cycles. And years later, Kenjaku (in Kaori Itadori’s body) humped Jin Itadori, who is the reincarnation of Sukuna’s twin. That process led to the birth of Yuji, who is revealed to be Sukuna’s nephew.

Because of this, Uraume wonders whether Yuji has a similar level of innate potential as Sukuna.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257 then cuts back to the fight between Yuji and Sukuna. Yuji’s awakening didn’t lead to any physical transformation we usually see in battle shonen but there’s something quite big happening within Yuji.

Their stances resemble actual Kung-Fu postures, straight out of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee.

That is when Yuji successfully hits Sukuna with 2 Black Flashes back-to-back, and gets pushed back to a pillar due to its impact. He then picks it up and hurdles it towards his opponent, who easily breaks it apart.

The narrator reveals here that Yuji currently has 2 Curses techniques in him. “Blood Manipulation” from death paintings and one of Sukuna’s Cursed Technique “Mizushi”, which means Shrine.

Yuji seizes Sukuna’s leg, attempting to sever it using Mizushi. However, Sukuna swiftly retaliates by launching slashes at him. Undeterred, Yuji boldly charges through the onslaught and delivers another powerful Black Flash, striking Sukuna once again!

Sukuna comes to the realization that Yuji possesses a similar cursed technique to his own, albeit with some variations influenced by the era and the individual’s representation. Despite this recognition, Sukuna finds it incredulous that Yuji can wield it. Given Yuji’s recent acquisition of the technique, the power output of his slashes remains relatively low.

The chapter then cuts to a brief flashback where Ino seeks approval from Gojo, Shoko, and Ijichi to utilize Nanami’s cursed tool, citing their close relationship with Nanami and their deep understanding of him. However, Gojo assures Ino that he can indeed use Nanami’s cursed tool, since Nanami placed the utmost trust in Ino above anyone else.

Cut back to the present and we see Ino using his cursed technique to summon Dragon & attacks, unbeknownst to Sukuna. However, Sukuna easily slices off the dragon & grabs hold of Nanami’s cursed tool with his feet.

Yuji uses this opportunity to hit Sukuna once again with another Black Flash, which actively pisses off the King of Curses. Bro was like, “how is this kid able to pull off Black Flashes as if they were child’s play??”

The mere thought of Yuji standing on equal footing with him further enraged Sukuna. Thus, he plans to go on the offensive by breaking down Yuji’s footing and punching him in the gut. But Yuji grabs hold of his arm & punches him back to the wall instead!

Yuji then prepares for another Black Flash but Sukuna was ready for it, so he grabbed his face and slashes it, resulting in Yuji’s face bleeding to oblivion. However, Yuji has already experienced a similar slashing before so he doesn’t budge. Instead, Yuji actually lands another Black Flash to Sukuna!

Sukuna’s fury reaches its peak as he bellows, “YOU BRAT!”

However, Nanami’s blunt knife that Ino threw as a last ditch effort strikes him, briefly interrupting his fury. This brief distraction provides Yuji with the opportunity to prepare himself for another Black Flash (Yuji probably realized that spamming Black Flashes is the only way to wield any sort of damage on Sukuna).

Ino, reflecting on their contribution, remarks, “I believe I managed quite well, considering it was merely me. Now, give it your all, Yuji.”

With that, the GOAT, Yuji Itadori, unleashes his 8th black flash on the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna!

Sukuna is shocked to his very core. Bro looked back and was like “What the fuck is this??? How??” And that’s where the chapter ends.

The editor adds in their thoughts and says “YUJI BECAME EQUAL TO THE KING AND SURPASSED HIM”!!!

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257 will officially drop in Weekly Shonen Jump and Mangaplus on April 21, 2024 (Sunday). There is no break next week!
