How Monkey D. Garp SOLOED ALL THE YONKO! One Piece Chapter 1161 Full Spoilers!
This chapter solidifies Garp as the boogeyman and nightmare of all pirates, being able to frighten and overwhelm three of the future Yonko!

In the previous One Piece chapter, we see the start of the God Valley Incident as Dragon saves Shanks and Shamrock while the Roger and Rocks Pirates clash with each other and Garling’s Holy Knights.
One Piece Chapter 1161 is titled, “The Song of Love That Blew Through the Shower of Arrows”.
This chapter has 19 pages, including the 2 pages for the color spread.
It has been a while since Oda was cooking a creative chapter title.
The rain of arrows is definitely a reference to Gunko’s Aro Aro no Mi but also the chaos of the entire God Valley Incident.
We see a color spread and the normal cover story.
There is a special reader request for Color Spread: “Straw Hat crew playing in a claw machine against a giant lion”.
Usopp is playing in a big claw machine against a huge lion.
Machine prizes are hundred of stuffed toys and all of them are based on One Piece characters
related to the Straw Hat crew.
For example, Luffy is carrying stuffed toys of Shanks, Ace, Sabo, Dadan, Garp, Makino, Rayleigh, Whitebeard and Gaimon, essentially his family and mentors who helped him grow.
Nami carries stuffed toys of Bell-mère, Nojiko, Genzo, Haredas (Nami’s timeskip teacher from Weatheria) and Vivi, people who are quite connected and precious to her.
Zoro and Jinbe are sleeping on top of giant stuffed toys of Dorry, Brogy, Saul and Shirahoshi. Sanji throws a Buggy stuffed toy to Zoro.
Chopper is crying because he’s trapped inside the claw machine.
Robin is praying to get Chopper and Franky realizes they do not have enough coins to play in the claw machine.
Finally, Brook is inside the claw machine too because he’s one of the claws.
We return to Volume 43 of the Oni Child Yamato’s Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage as Yamato, Momo and Kinemon are praying in the shrine.
We see the paper lamps with the names of Wanokuni’s heroes (Kozuki Oden, Kozuki Toki, Izou, Ashura Doji, and Yasuie).
The chapter begins with battles all around God Valley.
We see Dragon run away with baby Shanks and Shamrock but then a laser beam pierces him, causing the babies to fall to the ground.
Shanks hits his little head and loses consciousness.
The attacker was the big woman with sharp teeth and shades from the last chapter, who shot a beam from her mouth like a Pacifista.
Her name is Maffey of the Satchel Family, so now we have 13 named families from the Celestial Dragons, who are descended from the First Twenty, which includes the Nefeltari Family that stayed in the lower world.
She carried a cigar on her left hand while she easily grabbed Shamrock with just her right hand.
Maffey reveals that she was sent by the Celestial Dragon that was supposed to take care of the babies to ensure that man does not get killed by Garling for failing his duty.
Maffey was surprised to find out that Garling already had children and that someone wanted to kidnap them.
Dragon was injured but he wanted to save the babies because they were his atonement to make up for his participation in that cruel game of murder as a Marine cadet sent alongside others who simply followed orders.
When Maffey was about to kill Dragon with her sword, she was slashed in half by Whitebeard who coincidentally appear there along with Shiki, Big Mom and Kaidou.
While hiding behind a tree, Dragon looked so small compared to these three titans.
Shiki was angry with Whitebeard saying he was trying to kill him while Kaido was annoyed with Linlin too.
This is because the Rocks Pirates have been betrayed by the other Pirate crews with them, aiming to claim their heads to make a name for themselves rather than help in Shakky’s rescue.
We can list five factions:
The Celestial Dragons and Marines
The Rocks Pirates
The Roger Pirates
Dragon
The other Rocks-affiliated pirates
In a double-page, Whitebeard, Shiki, Big Mom and Kaido attack the traitors together.
Maffey recovers from Whitebeard’s attack, still holding onto Shamrock and wonders what is happening.
By then, however, Dragon was able to get away while worrying about both kids being taken.
However, to his surprise, Dragon finds Shanks lying unconscious and so he takes the baby away.
Garp notices the “big shot pirates” close to him and to catch them, Garp punches the ground, which forced Whitebeard, Big Mom and Kaido to dodge the attack.
The belligerent Kaido wanted to fight Garp back but Linlin and Newgate refuse to drag things out so they flee.
While fleeing, Linlin combines Zeus and Prometheus into a massive attack called “Heavnely Fire Freeze” but this does absolutely nothing to Garp and he emerges looking even more menacing than the Four Emperors were, past or present.
Garp mocks Linlin’s fire, saying that it was not able to roast a prime rib.
Amidst all of this chaos, Rocks runs to the center of God Valley, thinking about his son and his wife, Ellis or maybe even Eris.
We cut to the Rocks Pirates and Roger Pirates closing in to the middle of God Valley, where we see Roger fight Whitebeard.
Also we see that Captain John has a large metal arm, even though he was shown having two arms intact while alive and as a zombie.
Could John be the previous user of the Jiki Jiki no Mi?
Eustass Kid’s moniker is “Captain” and John has always been called “Captain John”, so perhaps that is a link to having the same Devil Fruit.
Being more locked in on this fight, Roger orders Rayleigh to get Shakky.
The Marines attempt to take Shakky away but she kicks and defeats them all even while in chains, showing how she was not some damsel but a powerful pirate empress.
However, Sommers arrives, attempting to win back Shakky, only to be rejected.
This causes Sommers to slap Shakky, who responds with a strong kick.
When Shakky tries to attack, Sommers grabs her leg and smacks her with his club, leading to Shakky being beaten on the ground.
Sommers prepares to kill Shakky, not wanting Garling to have her.
In the last two-page spread of the chapter, we see Rayleigh defeat Sommers with a new attack called “Billhook of the Beyond” (“Higanbana” (1FE- UhAlsta) in japanese, same pronunciation as red spider lily flower).
Rayleigh’s attack pose is very similar to Zoro’s pose when he uses “Onigiri” attack, perhaps hinting at the swords style or discipline Rayleigh applies.
Rayleigh offered his hand to Shakky, similar to Luffy’s pose when he offered his hand to Momonosuke in Zou.
Shakky bursts into tears and they both embrace each other while crying.
Roger and Gaban were also crying but with a mix of jealousy for Rayleigh being the one Shakky loved and joy over saving Shakky.
Rayleigh apologizes to Shakky that she had to experience these things.
The chapter ends with Roger ordering his crew to grab all the treasure and leave God Valley.
With Shakky rescued from the Celestial Dragons, why would Garp and Roger even need to team up against Rocks?
What exactly happened that made the God Valley Incident this infamous?
This is still just the Ohara Incident but with two legendary pirate crews in the mix.
There will be NO BREAK next week.
One Piece Chapter 1162 will be released on October 6, 2025.
