GARP BEATS ROGER IN FIRST FIGHT! FIST BEATS GOLD! One Piece Chapter 1156 Full Spoilers!

In the previous One Piece chapter, we learn of the origins of the Rocks Pirates and how Rocks got so close to the center of the world by meeting Imu, the first pirate so far to do so since Joy Boy.

One Piece Chapter 1156 is titled, “Idols”

This chapter has 19 pages, including the two color pages that form the color spread.

Also on the magazine cover, we see the collaboration between One Piece and Pokemon with Pikachu and Luffy leading the cast of Pokemon and Weekly Shonen Jump protagonists.

Continuing the 28th anniversary trend, the color spread features Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Nami in the front, with Roger, and the current or older versions of Rayleigh and Gaban in the back, symbolizing inherited will among those pursuing the One Piece.

Nami is drinking a beverage from a straw. 

The other Straw Hats are smaller and on the side, with Brook on Luffy’s Straw Hat, Chopper on his right shoulder and the others, particularly Franky, are on a bag he has.

Nami being a fourth person could be because Scopper Gaban is the navigator of the Roger Pirates and that their navigation skills are crucial to the hunt.

We are back to around 44 years ago, right where we stopped during the previous chapter.

The narrator seems to be speaking more to the audience as he states that the Kuja Pirates were quite strong during this time period, so it would not make sense to leave the Kuja out of the story.

The Kuja Pirates were an idol group but composed of rough, tough yet beautiful ladies, such that their bounty posters were sold for a high price as collectibles for fans.

They were also constantly stalked by journalists and fans who wanted photos of them and of course other pirates.

While Gloriosa was the Kuja Empress at the time, it was Shakuyaku, the next Empress, who was on a whole other league of beauty and popularity.

One key reason why the Kuja and the Roger Pirates fought often was because Roger himself was obsessed with Shakuyaku and wanted to take her.

Shakuyaku declared that she belongs to no one.

Gloriosa hugged Roger, declaring her love for him but Roger told her to get out of the way as he could not see Shakky.

Rayleigh was the only chad among the Roger Pirates, unaffected by Shakky’s stunning good looks, so instead Shakky told him to take all of the Kuja treasures and winked at him before leaving and Rayleigh blushes.

After the Kuja Pirates left, Garp comes aboard, with a cannonball in hand, leading to a double-page spread of the two rivals fighting.

Garp uses his Meteor Fist against the Roger Pirates’ ship while Roger uses a new attack called “Wild Soul”, which in Japanese is “Ara Mitama”, one of thefour sub-spirits that a human has according to a Shinto theory). 

The narrator then says that this was the era when youthful blood, Roger, Garp, and Rocks clashed for the first time.

Meanwhile in Elbaph, Ida asked Loki to come live with her and Hajrudin but Loki refused.

Of course, she was so kind but as established, even as an infant, Loki lost faith in love.

Even Ida’s caring persona was not enough to make Loki find peace and instead, he only wanted to join the Rocks Pirates

In Hachinosu, a man arrived on the island and attacked some random pirates. 

He was “Kyou the Yakuza”, later known as “Silver Axe” and Shiki’s rival.

Kyou is a large man with a large tattoo on his chest, a kimono decorated with axes, sunglasses with X’s on each lens, and a large axe on his back, furthering his 

He bears a striking resemblance to Zephyr, the main antagonist of One Piece Film Z.

Has Oda recycled an old design? Or is there a chance that Zephyr could still be canonized?

We end the chapter in the headquarters of Hachinosu, inside the “skull” structure, where we see the new Rocks Pirates members:

Charlotte Linlin and Streusen, the pirate who found her after she lost Mother Carmel,.Kaido, John and Barbel, a Catfish Fishman that was seen with flame-like hair in the God Valley Incident (Chapter 1096).

Interestingly, Kaido’s castle in Onigashima is the Skull Dome, so perhaps he misses his time with the Rocks Pirates.

That is also why Rocks’ son Blackbeard chose to take over Hachinosu, in honor of his father.

Rocks reveals his grand plan:

First, to acquire two Devil Fruits, one of which was in Elbaph and was something he wanted Harald to consume so that the fruit could achieve its full potential.

If the theory stands, this fruit is the Hito Hito no Mi, Model Nika (Gomu Gomu no Mi)

The Giant Straw Hat hidden in Mary Geoise could imply that Nika was once a real being, rather than a concept among the Giants, possibly even a Giant himself.

Why else would Rocks suggest that an Ancient Giant would bring out its full potential?

This also sounds similar to the plot in Attack on Titan, where the Founding Titan’s full potential could only be unlocked through the Fritz Royal Family but the one to consume it was not a chosen one of the same line but an ordinary boy, Eren Jaeger.

Given that Harald was assassinated 14 years ago and the Gomu Gomu no Mi was stolen

The second Fruit might be the Yami Yami no Mi, hence why Blackbeard spent much of his life searching for it.

Next, he will free the Galley-La Giants, who might be trapped in Punk Hazard in ice, likely through a Hie Hie no Mi user before Kuzan.

Perhaps to rebuild Pluton or retrieve Noah in Fishman Island (which could be why he recruited a Fishman).

In the amazing double-page spread showing the entire crew, Rocks tells his crew that whether or not they will follow him on the destined day is up to them but on that day, he will show them the Summit of the World (Imu on his Empty Throne).

The time for God Valley has come

There will be a BREAK next week for Japanese Summer Holiday Week  and thus all Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine works like Kagurabachi and Sakamoto Days will be on break as well.

One Piece Chapter 1157 will be released on August 18, 2025.
