Percival Chooses BOTH! Four Knights of the Apocalypse Chapter 213 Spoilers!
Percival makes the revolutionary choice of loving both Anne and Nasiens. How will this affect the story moving forward?
In the previous Four Knights of the Apocalypse chapter, the former Camelot Holy Knight Rosebank returns and confesses her love for Percival, who makes his decision.
Four Knights of the Apocalypse Chapter 213 is titled, “A Sincere Confession”.
This chapter has 20 pages.
The cover shows Anghalhad reading a map together with Nasiens pointing something there and Percival just staring at them, signifying his feelings for both of them.
Rosebank expresses her frustration with not being chosen but she figured as much.
Isolde asks for clarification if what Percival means by love here is “as a woman” and once again, Lancelot’s comparison with mates is applied.
Both Nasiens and Anne turn the brightest red possible.
Anne has always wondered about Percy’s true feelings but she is still overwhelmed that this is actually happening.
However, Anne thinks there are other options: such as Nasiens, Isolde and Lancelot.
Why would a man like Lancelot be included?
When asked by Nasiens if Percival preferred them to be a boy or girl in Chapter 153: “Towards New Adventure” at the end of the Fairy Realm Arc, Percival was open to both, hinting at his bisexuality or even his pansexuality.
Considering how close Lancelot and Percival are as friends, it is always possible
Interestingly, Donnie was not considered in spite of how Percival proclaimed to love his main friend group (which included Lancelot).
This might be because of Lancelot’s good looks being an easier hook, which ties into Anne’s own biases.
Anne concludes that Nasiens might be the one after all and hates to admit that Nasiens is smart, kind and more “womanly” than Anne herself.
Furthermore, it was Nasiens who woke Percival up from his slumber.
Lancelot is excited to see how Percy handles the situation.
We see Percival come up to Anne and immediately that he loves her, which makes her cry for joy as she tells her man that he better not take it back.
This leads Nasiens to try to walk out, saying that they have something to get at the dispensary.
Suddenly, Percival takes hold of Nasiens’ wrist and also…
…declares love for Nasiens.
Percival first kissed Nasiens in Chapter 188: “Father’s Words, Mother’s Memories, during the Annwfyn Gladiator Festival arc when Nasiens fought against Diodora and had their poison deflected by the latter.
However, Anne was Percival’s first indirect kiss to administer Nasiens’ antidote during the very arc where Anne herself was introduced.
Rosebank and Isolde are flabbergasted while Anne looks quite offended.
Percival tells Nasiens that he, Anne and Nasiens will be mates together, the three of them, and that he is excited to have a child together.
This leads to Anne smacking Percy, telling him not to mess around.
Rosebank leaves the awkward scene while Isolde tries to cheer Anne up by saying that maybe Percival was humoring them.
However, Lancelot says that Percival 100% means it, much to Isolde’s chagrin.
Lancelot points out that Anne’s Magic, Interrogator, did not go off.
Last chapter demonstrated that it would go off even without Anne thinking about it, causing those to lie in her presence to sink to the ground, akin to Galand’s Commandment of Truth curse.
Anne asks for some time to herself.
While sitting by the bridge, Anne is still frustrated over this three-way relationship she will have with Percival and Nasiens.
Wondering why she fell for him, Anne thinks Percival has lost his mind.
Lancelot, in his Sin fox form, arrives, explaining that Percival may have lost it from a human view but something Anne needs to keep in mind is that Percival is a Life Spirit, not a human.
Lancelot could relate to Percy since Lancelot himself is half-Fairy, not only in his ability to read minds but potentially in how unique Fairies are in approaching love.
Lancelot explains that Life Spirits do not pick and choose but help all life grow and prosper.
Therefore, Percival is himself a weirdo among Life Spirits for choosing individuals and to mate for that matter.
We should also keep in mind that Life Spirits are technically not really individuals and egos in the same sense as the other races but are more of a collective force.
Percival the Life Spirit maintains his own individuality because he was raised solely by one lifeform, the human Varghese that acts as his grandfather.
Right now, Percival is making the hard decision of choosing specific people to mate with, a function that isolates the Life Spirit’s essence of flourishing all life towards making something of their own, their own child and, more importantly, forming their own distinct relationship with specific people.
Percival chose both Nasiens and Anne because he specifically loves both of them in a way he cannot equally love anyone else.
Ironically, this is one of the least creepy aspects of Nakaba’s approach to romance and it is due to how polygamy is a thing in the real world.
Also recall that Demon Slayer’s Tengen Uzui, a popular character from this incredibly popular anime, has three wives and the anime does not mince its words about it.
They are co-equal lovers.
Some fans might be more reminded of Mushoku Tensei, where the main protagonist Rudeus has three wives (Sylvie, Eris and Roxy), albeit with the undertone of creepiness still hanging around due to having had a crush on Roxy as a child and all throughout his growth stages in the new world, he has the mind of a 34-year old Japanese man.
Yet here, the story spends 200 chapters developing the type of person Percival is, a wild child who realizes he is not human and is able to love everyone equally.
He may not have a grasp of society’s ways but he loves purely and fully.
Lancelot says as much, that Anne can never find anyone as honest and sincere with everyone he meets than Percival.
While alone on top of a tower, Percival comes across Nasiens, who responds with “yes” to his confession.
Percival reflects on how his love for both Anne and Nasiens has reminded him that he is far from human.
To be fair, we recently learned that Nasiens was a Fairy-Giant hybrid by being King and Diane’s child.
For Percival, the idea of living together with Anne and Nasiens makes him so happy but wonders if Anne will ever forgive him.
Nasiens leans on their lover, saying that even if he is weird, they still love her, and they are about to have a moment when Anne steps in, telling them to stop flirting for a second so she can join in.
Nice first start to the relationship there.
Percival hugs both of his lovers but Anne wonders how she will have to explain things to her father
