Chainsaw Man is CANON TO DANDADAN??? Dandadan Volume 23 Explained
Perhaps as a tribute to the end of Chainsaw Man, Tatsu drew an omake chapter showing Fujimoto’s iconic Sharknado moment within Dandadan’s own Sharknado arc.
On April 3, 2026, Dandadan has released Volume 23 to Japan, with an extra omake chapter with a shocking premise:
Chainsaw Man Shares the Same Universe as Dandadan
Yukinobu Tatsu was one of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s assistants, alongside Centuria’s Tooru Kuramori, Hell’s Paradise’s Yuji Kaku and Spy x Family’s Tatsuya Endo.
However, they all worked together less as teacher-disciples and more like work colleagues since Tatsu, Kaku and especially Endo were more like Fujimoto’s seniors.
This is also not Tatsu’s first Chainsaw Man tribute as two years ago, Tatsu drew Yoru, the War Devil from Chainsaw Man Part 2 in his style
And with the Typhoon Human Arc being based on Sharknado like the Typhoon Devil fight in the Reze Arc film, we get a Sharknado collaboration.

The omake is 8 pages.
The omake takes place in the middle of the Typhoon Human arc.
The news reports that Typhoon No. 20 is swiftly approaching Honshu at an astonishing pace.
This is the Typhoon Human and it leads to an unexpected encounter.
With Denji from Chainsaw Man??
Denji comes in with Beam, the Shark Fiend, lured by the promise of a hotel’s adult channel showing alluring bikini-clad women, thus motivating Denji to defeat the Typhoon Human, who Denji mistakes for the Typhoon Devil.
After slicing up one of the flying sharks, Denji bursts into laughter and shares with Beam his idea to open a sushi restaurant with sharks as the main ingredient since it is rich people food to get rich quick.

Beam tells Lord Chainsaw of a plane they need to catch up to.
While wanting to focus on the adult channel, Denji switches up and tells Beam to defeat the Typhoon Devil
Then Denji spots his first Dandadan babe, the alien Bamora, leading to Chainsaw Man wanting to save the people because of a cutie but Beam thinks it is the plane as a whole.
Denji and Beam dodge the sharks launched at them by the typhoon’s snout and hear its mouth singing.
Seeing the two body parts as the true form of the Typhoon Human, Denji charges in to slash them with his chainsaws.
It seems like Denji has either already defeated the original Typhoon Devil in the Reze Arc film and sees this as a reincarnation or Denji has yet to be betrayed by Reze.
That being said, this feels like filler, where things happen in the middle of ongoing events.
Except this Typhoon “Devil” is not really affected by Chainsaw Man and simply regenerates the damage, then throws Denji and Beam to swim with the fishes.
Turning back to human, Denji and Beam encounter a female lifeguard who tells them to leave the dangerous water and of course Denji is smitten with the attractive lady.
