Daemon vs Sarada! Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 26 Spoilers!
Sarada faces an insurmountable task, how to use her Mangekyo Sharingan against Daemon, an opponent that reflects all damage back.

In the previous Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter, Sarada confirms her feelings for Boruto, who is making a desperate deal with Momoshiki to give him the power to end Jura.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 26 is titled, “Connections”.
This chapter has 40 pages, including the chapter cover.
The cover features Momoshiki, Boruto’s inner demon.
Editor’s note: “Sarada and Sumire reconcile. And Boruto proposes a collaboration to Momoshiki!?”
“The thread from the depths of Hell descends”
The last line might be a reference from The Spider’s Thread by Ryūnosuke Akutagawa.
A New Ship Straight from the Anime
The first page turns out to be the sneak peek of Inojin dropping off Himawari’s favorite honey to her.
As he heads out, Inojin meets with the frog that speaks for Kashin Koji, which confuses the boy.
Koji asks for confirmation about Inojin’s feelings for Himawari Uzumaki.
Okay, the sequel definitely needs filler arcs because anyone who just reads the manga and has not seen the Boruto anime will be shocked by all of this.
Koji sees Inojin’s blush as confirmation of his feelings for Himawari, which leads Koji to ask if he wants to protect Himawari, which he confirms as well.
After being asked who he is, Koji tells the boy to come with him for more details.
Suddenly, Inojin is teleported to Koji’s hideout, where he meets the man in the flesh.
Inojin remembers Koji’s name as a remnant of Kara.
Seemingly doubling down on Inojin’s worries, Koji says that while he is not here to threaten his life, he does say that there is nowhere to run in the hideout as there is no physical way in or out.
On the second chair, Boruto sits down, aura-farming, telling Inojin that once they are done speaking, they will send him back home.
Meanwhile in the Human God Tree hideout, Jura is weeping, which confuses Hidari.
Jura explains that he read a novel and although it is a fictional story, Jura was moved to tears.
This novel helped him understand Matsuri’s emotions of love, her anger and sadness over Konohamaru’s rejection.
However, for Jura this is not enough while Mamushi thinks that information is not so important.
Mamushi has understood his desire for Eida is a desire to control Eida and take her genetic information.
Hostile Takeover
Meanwhile, Shikamaru heads for the Council of Elders meeting room and receives a transmission from Kashin Koji using Inojin’s Mind Transmission Jutsu as an unofficial communication.
Shikamaru tells Koji to call another time as he is burdened with the upcoming meeting but Koji says this talk is precisely about the present meeting, warning Shikamaru that he will lose his position as acting Hokage and so he will offer any advice needed but all action is ultimately up to Shikamaru himself.
Shikamaru already feels like resigning as it is.
In the meeting, we see the Leaf Elders, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, in their seats, together with Sai Yamanaka, Konahamaru Sarutobi and a new character never before seen in the manga or anime, Kobu, an attendant of the Land of Fire’s Daimyo and essentially his representative for this gathering.
As it turns out, this meeting is about the Sand Village Mission that was carried out with Shikamaru’s sole authority, therefore the Council and Daimyo treat this as an arbitrary action.
Acting as overseers of the village, Kobu mentions how the Daimyo doubts Shikamaru’s sense of responsibility over the village.
He brings up a relevant point: that the Daimyo or maybe even all the other Lands’ Daimyo are debating on the necessity of the survival of Ninja Villages and this is not just in terms of budget cuts but even the idea of removing shinobi villages as a whole could be considered.
In Shippuden, the Akatsuki, specifically Pain/Nagato, brings up how the end of the first three Ninja Wars has brought many ninja to unemployment and lack of purpose, the same dilemma happening in the Boruto era after the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Shikamaru justifies his arbitrary, secretive approaches, saying that the Human God Trees are no ordinary foes and they cannot be reasoned with normally, so he is acting based on discreet information.
Shikamaru is about to bring up the source but Koji warns him not to mention Ten Directions, the ability to see paths to the future.
So, Shikamaru says that he will not divulge this source for everyone’s safety and that such information is uncertain and not 100% accurate.
But Homura suspected that the source of this information is the criminal Boruto Otsutsuki, who the elders think has much knowledge on the God Trees’ ecology and may even be connected with them behind the scenes.
The elders claim that Boruto is actually using the Shinju and his information to deceive the Leaf Village and dismantle it from within as revenge for the Village driving him off.
Konohamaru protests these allegations.
Shikamaru tries to stop him but Koji tells him to let him speak as he is to ensure Shikamaru is not the target of the higher-ups.
Konohamaru says that Boruto saved him and although just from a first impression, he could tell that Boruto had no malicious intent against the Leaf.
Homura asks Konohamaru if he is siding with Boruto but Konohamaru clarifies, weakly I might add, that Boruto might have his own reasons for concealing his intentions.
Koharu calls Konohamaru a fool and that there is no room for debate regarding Boruto’s status since he killed Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage.
Shikamaru tells Konohamaru to stop protesting further but Kobu says that although the mission may look like a success, the Leaf Village working together with a traitor becomes a serious issue of national security for the Land of Fire and the prestige of the Leaf Village.
Shikamaru’s reign as the Eighth Hokage is already looking grim as the Leaf is nearing its twilight.
Kobu tells Sai to detain Konohamaru to identify everyone who has direct contact with Boruto, especially the one who helped Boruto escape.
This will mean that if Konohamaru squeals, Shikamaru will be outed and lose his position as Hokage.
The Guardian Ninja Twelve filler arc from Shippuden is actually quite relevant right now because of the way the Daimyo is interfering with the Hidden Leaf’s affairs, returning the old question of who the king is: the Hokage or the Fire Lord?
Considering that Shikamaru is only a provisional Hokage, not a real one, he will face this question that, in the anime filler arc, his late mentor Asuma Sarutobi faced.
It also fits that Konohamaru, the grandson of the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Elders’ friend, is the first to be arrested.
I wonder if this is what causes the end of shinobi and not the Shinju or Kawaki or Boruto
Cutting off communications, Inojin is frustrated that they keep doing this that are against the rules, feeling like he will get in trouble.
He also reveals that any private use of Mind Transmission is forbidden by the Yamanaka Clan, on top of communication outside the Sensory Team’s oversight in the middle of a high command meeting.
Koji explains that since they are hunted down by the Human God Trees and the Leaf Village, they have to do underhanded tactics and reminds Inojin that he is already in too deep with these two fugitives.
Boruto says that the Human God Trees do not hold back and so they must adapt to the enemy’s methods.
Inojin reaffirms his conviction, having fought Jura before, that he needs strength and determination to protect Himawari and everyone else.
Koji asks Boruto if he has come to understand the situation and warns him about his deal with Momoshiki but Boruto assures him that he will play his role.
Koji remarks that he hates Boruto’s attitude over this and the sentiment is mutual.
It is clear the two are still in heavy disagreement regarding the way Koji conceals information for his vision’s convenience, even at the cost of people’s lives like Yodo.
Inojin tells the two to stop arguing.
Koji justifies his choices, saying it was all done to ensure Sarada awakened her Mangekyo and would prevent a future where more people died.
Koji is willing to listen to Boruto’s “childish” criticisms but Boruto says this is a waste of time and they should keep working.
Koji then reconnects with Shikamaru to brief him on the situation, with Shikamaru saying that he himself might be next on the chopping block.
Koji says that for the sake of their plans, Shikamaru should still be Hokage and warns him that one week from now, Mamushi will be the Human God Tree that will attack the Leaf next.
Here, he explains Mamushi’s goal being to devour Eida and about Mamushi’s abilities, which leads us to the next scene, meaning we will see those powers at work when he does arrive.
Sarada vs Daemon
Meanwhile, Eida asks Sarada when she plans to confess her feelings for Boruto but Sarada clarifies that no one said anything about confessing.
To Eida, this sounds like Sarada will confess either way.
Sarada says that Boruto is not in the right headspace to hear a confession from her and if she says something weird, the atmosphere would get awkward, a statement Eida finds boring.
Eida asks Sumire the same and Sumire admits she might confess spontaneously.
Again, refer to the anime as to why Sumire and Boruto make sense because the manga expects you to watch the anime, at least the first 50 or so episodes.
Eida gets excited from the anticipation.
Sumire says that the same could be said for Sarada, especially since she did hug Boruto all of a sudden during their reunion, which makes Sarada fluster.
But for Sumire and Sarada, what matters is Boruto’s feelings.
After getting excited by all this talk of love, Eida asks the two girls again if they have been enchanted by her or not.
Daemon glares at them while standing.
Sumire recalls Shikamaru’s warning, to not be caught lying to Eida by Daemon.
By placing themselves close enough to be able to kill Eida, it means Sumire and Sarada’s lives have been forfeit.
Eida caught on through the simple fact that they were talking about Sarada and Sumire’s feelings for Boruto, which was already a thing since the start of the sequel, in front of someone that the two girls should have been magnetically attracted to,
The chapter ends with Daemon grabbing both Sarada and Sumire by the neck, catching Sarada about to activate her Mangekyo Sharingan and warns her that he will kill her before she even uses it.
Daemon has the ability to Reflect based on Killing Intent.
Can Sarada achieve a “Selfless State” (No Self in Buddhism) like Demon Slayer’s Tanjiro to counter this ability or will her Mangekyo reveal the right ability for this situation?
Editor’s note: “Tensions running wild!! Fear racing through!!”
