Chihiro Scratches Tobimune! Kagurabachi Chapter 84 Spoilers!
Chihiro makes massive progress as he finally makes a dent on Samura’s Tobimune and progress to his ultimate goal to destroy the Shinuchi.
In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, the duel between Samura and Chihiro continues, with Chihiro declaring his intent to break the Shinuchi himself to save Samura’s life.
Kagurabachi Chapter 84 is titled, “The Scarred Ones”
This chapter has 19 pages.
The chapter begins where we left off as Chihiro stands on the pond, facing Samura, who thinks that Kunishige would be the type of person to find a way to break the Shinuchi but outwardly, he says that if so, why has Samura’s Tobimune not been chipped.
Samura does recall Chihiro wishing not to be a swordsman but a blacksmith like his father.
But Samura tells Chihiro in the present that even if Chihiro had the power to break the Shinuchi, this responsibility falls on those of the past who made this mistake.
Chihiro refuses, saying he is the son of Kunishige Rokuhira.
Feathers appear and Samura teleports in front of Chihiro, who confirms Samura’s killing intent to take the Enten, seeing it as a means to end the Shinuchi and to free Chihiro of the burden.
Samura blocks from behind but suddenly, Chihiro appears in front of Samura and kicks him away.
Samura realizes Chihiro was not just fast but that Enten might have an ability similar to Crow.
As it turns out, this is Enten’s Aka (the red goldfish), the ability to absorb and fire back any attack Chihiro takes on.
He was able to absorb Crow while it was flowing towards him and so Chihiro is confident he could scratch Tobimune to prove that Enten can break the Shinuchi.
Okay Chihiro, stop breaking your father’s swords that could still be used for good. At least learn to fix them.
After declaring his intent to save Samura’s life, Chihiro pushes Samura back until they reach a path with lampposts around.
Chihiro continues anticipating Samura’s use of Crow but he then sees his own hand bleed and feels how strong Samura’s blows have become, meaning he will force Chihiro to yield.
With Chihiro losing the ability to grip Enten, the former recalls a conversation with Rou on the train, where Rou explains that Samura has no blindspots and can sense through his feathers, which is similar to Enten’s Goldfish and this could be where Enten gets the motif.
Chihiro says that he gets a general idea of what the details of a shape is by touching it; even all the uneven parts of it but not the environment, so Chihiro theorizes that the Crow feathers (and perhaps by extension the Enten Goldfish) can create a space based on the user’s image.
Though Rou thinks the feathers make it hard for the Masumi to contribute, Moku explains that the Masumi specialize in erasing “heat, sound, smell, and killing intent” to reduce their presence so much that it blends into the space itself.
In the present, the Masumi use their ninjutsu to reveal themselves surrounding Samura.
This buys Chihiro the time he needs.
Iori and Ikura make it to the scene to see the next part of the battle.
Holding onto the hilt of his blade, Chihiro activates Aka to copy Tobimune’s Suzaku to heal his hands.
Samura confirms the copy ability but is surprised that Chihiro is able to even recover at all since recovery requires a whole bunch of familiarity with the nerve structure and in a few seconds Chihiro was able to heal the broken bone of his hands.
Rou taunts Samura, saying he always had the ability to heal his eyes but refuses because he is that afraid of facing the future of the living, which makes Samura mad.
Samura recalls all the suffering Iori went through in the past and says that he has already seen a future where he is alive.
Suddenly, Samura unleashes Suzaku, this time offensively to burn the surrounding Masumi who have hidden away.
They only bought Chihiro three seconds to recover and make a move.
Rou remarks that Samura still cannot see what is most important.
Chihiro emerges from behind Samura in that instant yet Samura is surprised Chihiro’s hand actually did not heal.
Saying both men don’t care about being scarred, Chihiro used Aka to copy Suzaku’s firepower to be able to chip the Tobimune.
