IGAGURI RETURNS AFTER SIX MONTHS! Nagi and Igaguri Reunite! Blue Lock Chapter 309 Spoilers!

Will the two biggest failures in Blue Lock rise from the dead together?

BLUE LOCK © 2018 by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and Nomura Yuusuke/KODANSHA.

In the previous Blue Lock chapter, Nagi is offered a chance to join the Buratsuta 3 alongside Sae Itoshi at the cost of betraying Ego, all for a way back to Blue Lock.

Blue Lock Chapter 309 is titled, “Reunion”

This chapter has 20 pages.

Editor’s note: “A fierce battle for survival is inevitable. Blue Lock, representing the host country in the U-20 World Cup. Their goal : victory — a morning of new beginnings.”

The chapter begins with Isagi wondering about the group he is in, a group of death.

But regardless, he is determined to defeat any opponent, so he is seen off by his loving parents and he gives them a kind smile.

30 days left to the World Cup.

Bachira meets up with Isagi and is surprised to see the former grow a bit taller within 2 weeks.

As you may recall in Chapter 305: “X 23”, Bachira was sent to teach young kids soccer by Ego for his training.

Did he also drink milk?

Rin also joins them, remarking that he grew 1cm taller, with Bachira wondering if Rin wanted praise.

They then meet up with Karasu, Hiori, Haiku, Barou and the rest of the Blue Lock 23.

Ego comes forward, congratulating everyone on their 14 days of training that was definitely related to football.

Ego explains that each of the 23 have obtained a new weapon, with the combination of these weapons being a lifeline to victory.

Ego tells them to throw away things like bonds, the history of how they made it so far or doing it for the sake of Blue Lock.

Since Ego wants to use everyone for his dreams, the players should use their own dreams too.

Since Blue Lock carries the hopes of Japan, Ego reminds the players not to cling to the high of memories about to be made in the World Cup but to go beyond their egos.

The first match will be against Nigeria, Africa’s kings last year.

The second match will be the world’s number one ranked team, France.

The third match will be against the birthplace of football, England.

The final training camp for the U-20 World Cup begins now!

Meanwhile, we cut to Nagi playing alone at an arcade, thinking about how he refused Buratsuta’s offer last chapter, noting that if he accepted a  “money-grabbing slave contract”, that would not have been his ego.

I respect Nagi and Kaneshiro’s writing for allowing Nagi to think over this shortcut and how it would be bad for him (his story) if he said yes immediately out of desperation to see his boyfriend and his friends again.

He says it is not worth becoming a scummy villain for soccer and we cut to Isagi telling him to quit soccer.

It is timely because in-story, it shows how Isagi actually likes Nagi as a friendly rival.

However, it is also a reminder that Isagi is the type of scumbag villain who would do anything evil for soccer.

Nagi considers going professional even without joining the Japanese national team.

Now he wonders if what set his heart ablaze: soccer or Blue Lock.

Suddenly, Nagi hears someone from behind, pointing their fingers on the back of the head like a gun.

This is Igaguri, who we saw leave last year in Chapter 278: “Because You Were Here”.

Editor’s note: “The one who showed up was a former comrade! On the battlefield overseas, the genius’s spirit was..”

Blue Lock Chapter 310 is titled, “Just Quit Already!” and will be released on July 9, 2025, in time for the release of the Blue Lock Episode Nagi Final Chapter.
