Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories Returns With 11th Season In July!

Kanji Tsuda will resume his role as the storyteller.

On Saturday, the 11th season of Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories TV anime was announced. The season will air on TV Tokyo channel in July.

The season will follow the theme of “anew” or “again” in the urban legends.

Kanji Tsuda will resume his role as the storyteller.

The staff includes:

  • Director: Akira Funada
  • Scripts: Hiromu Kumamoto and Mitsuhi Sasagi

Qujila Yoluno is performing the ending theme song titled “Masquerade Parade”.

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories features six-minute horror stories, based on urban legends in the modern day. These shorts are inspired by kamishibai, i.e. Showa-era illustrated paper theater productions.

The anime’s first season aired in July 2013, with the 10th season airing in January 2022.

Crunchyroll streams the anime, and a live-action adaptation of the series premiered in 2020.
