YamiShibai: Japanese Ghost Stories Anime Announces 13th Season For July
On Friday, the staff for the Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories anime announced that it is getting a 13th season airing from July 15th. This season’s theme is “reminiscence.”
The cast members for the new season include:

- Shinji Matsubayashi
- Yutaka Shimizu
- Takaya Yamaguchi
- Yūta Hoshino
- Risa Aizawa
- Coisio Ringo
The staff includes:
- Director: Akira Funada
Scriptwriters: Hiromu Kumamoto, Mitsuhi Sasagi, Choji Yoshikawa, Saori Aoki, and Dan Osano - Storyboarders: Shōma Mutō, Choji Yoshikawa, and Takashi Iitsuka
- Animators: jimmy, Momoka Higurashi, “nishiyama&rie,” Yū Ebihara, Shino Hongō, Makoto Okada, and Norio Yamakawa.

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories features six-minute horror stories, based on urban legends in the modern day. These shorts are inspired by kamishibai, i.e. Showa-era illustrated paper theater productions.
The anime’s first season aired in July 2013.
Crunchyroll streams the anime, and a live-action adaptation of the series premiered in 2020.
