The Best Culling Game Player is Here!! What to Expect From Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 8
Setting up the fight between Yuji and the modern sorcery genius, Higuruma, this Jujutsu Kaisen episode promises some of the best presentation and animation to stun audiences.
In the previous Jujutsu Kaisen episode, Yuji and Megumi would begin the Culling Game as they search for Hiromu Higuruma to get his 100 points to ensure Tsumiki can freely exit from the Culling Game.
In between this episode is a recap episode, showing the three big players, including the adaptation of a missed panel of Kashimo killing some players.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 8 is titled, “Tokyo Colony No. 1, Part 2”
Chapters adapted:
This episode adapts the entire backstory of Hiromu Higuruma in Chapter 159: “Judgment”, Chapter 163: “Tokyo Colony No. 1, Part 3”, with Yuji encounter Higuruma in the bathroom being the highlight, and ending with Megumi cornered by Reggie Star in Chapter 167: “Tokyo Colony No. 1, Part 7” (pages 4-12) and Kenjaku meeting with foreign officials, for a possible total of 37 pages or 2.5 chapters.
This could likely be timed to Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo ending by March 9th, since the series began with the setup of human trafficking Japanese and sorcerers for renewable energy.
However, it is possible that the actual US military subplot (Chapters 200 and 201, titled “Direct Talks”) will not be adapted in Cour 1 as they cover Kenjaku rushing the conclusion of the Culling Game.

This finally breaks the pattern of Shota Goshozono storyboarding for the entire cour, meaning that just like Yuichiro Hayashi for Attack on Titan, The Final Season Part 1, he is only doing the first half of the season or just majority of the cour in general.
This could also be a hint that Takada might be Shota Goshozono’s potential replacement with verifiable rumors that he will be leaving MAPPA and Jujutsu Kaisen after completing his contract that was set between 2023-2026 but not necessarily leave Season 3.
An incredible animator, famous for his cuts in Chainsaw Man and Frieren, Kouki Fujimoto is stated to be a solo first key animator.
He has worked in Jujutsu Kaisen, particularly in Episode 13 with Mahito trying to touch Sukuna’s soul with his Domain Expansion, as well as multiple cuts in Opening 2: Vivid Vice, Yuji vs Hanami in Episode 19 and the iconic Black Flash between Nobara and Yuji.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 9 is titled, “Tokyo Colony No. 1, Part 3” and will be adapting the fight between Higuruma and Yuji, covering Chapter 164: “Tokyo Colony No. 1, Part 4” to the first 4 pages of Chapter 167, making the whole action episode a total of 61 pages or more than 3 chapters worth of content.
