This Hit Romance Manga Is About to End Soon
The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity is set to end by 2028 or so the author predicts.
On January 1, 2026, the author of the school romance manga, “The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity”, Saka Mikami, has confirmed that the series will end within 2 years.
However, she has also stated that she has a “habit of drawing things out longer than anticipated”.
With each year producing over 40 chapters, inclusive of multiple breaks, the series could see its end by 2028 with more than 250 or 260 chapters released.
This would add up with the gradual development of each characters’ relationships as while the main couple are already together, the secondary couple, Subaru and Natsuzawa, are blossoming gradually and all the main characters are figuring out their college and career paths.
About The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity
The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity is a Japanese romance manga written and illustrated by Saka Mikami serialized at Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga website and app since October 2021.
As of December 9, 2025 there have been 21 volumes published and has sold 10 million copies.
The story focuses on Rintaro and Kaoruku as they fall in love in spite of coming from opposing school backgrounds.
Rintaro comes from a “bad school” with mostly delinquent boys while Kaoruku is from a “prep school” mostly populated by girls.
The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity anime was released on July 5, 2025 and ended on September 28, 2025 with 13 episodes total adapting up to Chapter 41 of the manga.
