The Quintessential Quintuplets Is Getting A New Honeymoon Anime
The anime tells the story of Fūtarō and the quintuplets’ honeymoon vacation
On Sunday, the “The Quintessential Quintuplets 5th Anniversary Event in Yokohama Arena” revealed that a new anime, Gotōbun no Hanayome*, is based on the romantic comedy manga series of the same name by Negi Haruba.
The anime tells the story of Fūtarō and the quintuplets’ honeymoon vacation, and Haruba personally wrote the original story concept and is supervising all elements of the production.
The event on Sunday also revealed a new light book, the original plot concept of which is being drafted by Haruba, while Hajime Asano (Mayo Chiki!, Lapis Re:LiGHTs) is penning it.
A portion of the quintuplets’ daily lives that was not depicted in the original manga are followed in the light novel.
This year, Bushiroad is going to release a brand-new trading card game called Gotōbun no Hanayome Card Game.
The game will have original artwork by Haruba, as well as original artwork from other illustrators and from the manga.
This year, the initial booster pack and five distinct trial decks (one for each quintuplet) will be shipped. (A minimum of four booster packs will be published on a quarterly basis.)
In August 2017, Haruba began publishing the original manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine, and the series concluded in February 2020. More than 20 million copies of the manga have been distributed.
The first season of the anime debuted in January 2019 and ran for twelve episodes. The second season of the anime ran from January to March of 2021.
Cinemas around the country opened on July 14 for the Quintessential Quintuplets TM animation special, which aired on September 2 and 3.
