The Dandadan Month-Long Break Was Real?

The initial news about Dandadan’s April break might have been true all along. It was just that plans may have changed along the way.

Fans were expecting a new Dandadan chapter on April 14, 2026.

As it turns out, it was announced that Dandadan will be on break for 2 weeks and Chapter 232 will be released on May 5.

This means that Dandadan has been on break for three weeks, which ties in to what appeared to be an error in the news regarding Dandadan having a month-long break.

On March 31, it was initially stated that Dandadan will be on break for a month and will return on May 5 but the editor Shihei Lin clarified that the note from the Shonen Jump + App was a mistake.

But what if it was a prelude to this point?

Perhaps there was a planned month-long break but Tatsu chose to cut it short as he already finished Chapter 231 in time to revise the announcement, ensuring it would be delivered by April 7.

Yukinobu Tatsu is known for taking a month-long break at least once a year since 2024.

The first-ever break was from July 30, 2024 after Chapter 163: “Saviors, Don’t Be Late! ” and returned for Chapter 164: “She’s Gone All Little!” on September 3, 2024.

In 2025, he took a month-long break from January 21, 2025 after Chapter 182: “Something’s Taken the Bait” and returned for Chapter 183: “So It’s You!” on February 25, 2025

This means that Dandadan was set for a 3-week break and this was the intended 2026 break.
