The Bugle Call: Song of War Gets An Anime Adaptation
A story of war and the power of music in a medieval fantasy world, Bugle Call is set to bring a new flavor of fantasy to anime fans.
On June 16, 2026, it has been announced that there will be an anime adaptation for the dark fantasy manga “The Bugle Call: Song of War”, written by Mozuka Sora and illustrated by Higoro Toumori.
This manga has been recommended by Makoto Yukimura, author of Vinland Saga.
Originally published in Shueisha’s monthly Jump Square from June 3, 2022, Bugle Call has since moved to Jump SQ. Rise, a quarterly magazine from the Jump Square branch beginning later this July 2026.
As of writing, there have been 44 chapters and 13 volumes, with Volume 14 set for release on July 3, 2026.
Synopsis
Arboral Year 1294 the world dominated by 9 massive towers—remnants of an ancient civilization.
A young bugler hates war and dreams of becoming a maestro, one day however, develops a power called “branch possession,” and as he’s able to “see” sound, his destiny is set in motion
