The Black Butler Reveals A New Anime Season In 2024
Aniplex is producing the anime, and CloverWorks is animating the series.
On July 3, 2023, at AnimeExpo 2023, Crunchyroll announced that Yana Tobos’s manga Black Butler would receive a new anime in 2024. And it will be a completely new anime, not a rework.
The official YouTube channel of Crunchyroll is also streaming the first teaser for the anime.
Aniplex is producing the anime, and CloverWorks is animating the series. Crunchyroll has already licensed the worldwide streaming rights (excluding Japan) for the anime.
Daisuke Ono and Maya Sakamoto will reprise their respective roles as Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive.

Yana Tobos started the serialization of the manga in Square Enix’s Monthly GFantasy magazine in 2006.
The series received its first anime adaptation in October 2008 by A-1 Pitcures. The anime ended in March 2009 with 24 episodes.
Following this, the second season of the anime, titled Black Butler II, started airing from July 2010 to September 2010.
Funimation has released all three television anime on home video; this includes the Black Butler II OVA project, the Black Butler: Book of Murder OVA, and the Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic anime film.
