From July to September 2014, 11 episodes of the psychological thriller TV anime series, which was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop), broadcast on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” midnight programming block.

When it first aired, a lot of interest was generated by the gripping tale of two youngsters in which one mystery begets another.

Director Watanabe says, “I have never forgotten them, ever since the summer ten years ago. Of course, they still live inside me, lamenting that it’s hot again this year, and so on.”

Kaito Ishikawa, the voice of Nine, also comments, “I found myself shedding tears for the umpteenth time, as I was immersed in the deeply thought-provoking theme, the meticulous visual expression, the realistic sound and the sense of being deep inside the hearts of the characters. Whether you have never seen this anime or have seen it in the past, you will be deeply moved. I hope you will continue to remember their story, even if it is just in a corner of your mind.”

And Soma Saito, the voice of Twelve, adds, “For me, ‘Terror in Resonance’ can be called my adolescence without any exaggeration. It is not only sweet and beautiful, but it also encompasses bitterness, an itch, a sense of accomplishment and everything else that could only be experienced at that time of life. I sincerely hope that this work, which is the fruit of a wonderful scenario, characters, music and images, will reach as many people as possible now.”

A unique campaign will take place in Tokyo’s Noitamina Shop & Cafe Theater as the project’s first phase, running from July 6 to July 28, 2024. It will feature a cooperation meal, limited novelty gifts, and the sale of goods with freshly illustrated designs. Every Saturday and Sunday during the campaign, the store theater will broadcast the anime episodes chosen by fan surveys once again.

All 11 episodes of Terror in Resonance are available on Crunchyroll with the description below:
