Shun Umezawa’s Darwin Incident Manga To Get Anime Adaptation
The Darwin Incident (Darwin Jihen manga) by Shun Umezawa will be adapted into a television anime, TOHO animation revealed on Wednesday.
A teaser image was released by a newly created official Twitter account.
Umezawa, the original inventor, posted an illustration in honor of the news.
In 2020, Umezawa published the comic in the Afternoon magazine.
The manga’s seventh collected book volume was released by Kodansha on Wednesday.
The manga was put on hold in January 2023 and then it was serialized again in May of the same year.
In 2022, the manga took home the 15th Manga Taisho awards. In the Manga Division of the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards, which were held in 2022 by the Japanese government’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs, it also took home an Excellence Award.
In the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook, the manga was ranked #10 for male readers.
In 2023 and this year, respectively, the manga received nominations for the 47th and 48th Annual Kodansha Manga Awards.
