Sakamoto Days Part 2 Trailers Rekindles Hope For Better Animation
Some fans hope this will bring the series back to form with better animation and more exciting direction
On June 15, 2025, a month after the main trailer dropped, we get a second trailer where we see Sakamoto face off against the deranged Death Row Prisoners who have escaped and threatened his family.
We even see Slur bring up Sakamoto’s daughter and this transitions into a fight.
Fans have commented on how, like the first trailer, there is not much seen but the action on display seems to have improved in quality compared to Sakamoto Days Part 1.
Part 1 left off with the adaptation of Chapter 37: “Death Row Prisoner” and Episodes 10 to 11 kick off the Death Row Prisoners Arc (Chapters 32 to 54).
Based on the content shown in the two trailers, we will likely see the JCC Transfer Exams Arc (Chapters 55 to 72) completed for a possible total of 35 chapters adapted for 11 episodes.
New Cast
Alongside Koki Uchiyama, who will be voicing the new X’s Organization member, Gaku, we will also see the following inclusions
M.A.O as Akira Akao
Mamiko Noto as Rion Akao
Yamashita Daiki as Mafuyu Seba.
Satoshi Hino as Kanaguri.
An interesting note here is that Mamiko Noto and Daisuke Nakamura, the voice of Kei Uzuki, play the main couple of Kimi ni Todoke, which should be a sweet treat to fans of both series considering Uzuki’s emotional connection to Rion.
Starting Monday, July 14, 2025, episodes will be streamed on Netflix one episode ahead of the TV broadcast.
The premiere, like Part 1, will be made of the first two episodes.
