On Friday, the Pokémon Company announced that it is donating 50 million yen (US$346,000) to the Japanese Red Cross Society and other support organizations to help people affected by the January 1 Noto Peninsula earthquake.

Furthermore, the Pokémon With You Foundation will be supporting the children affected by the earthquake through activities.

This initiative originally began in 2011 to support the children affected by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake.

On January 1, an earthquake of magnitude 7.6 struck the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. The earthquake shook buildings in cities like Tokyo and Osaka as well, which reside on the opposite coast of Japan.

According to NHK, 94 people died due to the natural disaster.
