Phantom Busters Gets An Anime Adaptation

On September 24, 2026, it was announced that Phantom Busters will be getting an anime adaptation.

Previously on September 23rd, it was hinted that there would be a big announcement for Phantom Busters, which many fans immediately concluded would be the anime adaptation.

Phantom Busters was nominated in the 10th Next Manga Award Print Category in 2024 at 19th place, was ranked 14th in the 2025 edition.

It was ranked 2nd place in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees’ Recommended Comics list of 2025 and 4th in AnimeJapan’s “Manga We Want to See Animated” poll in 2025.

There are no details as to the studio behind the project.

Phantom Busters is written and illustrated by Neo Shoco for Shueisha’s monthly Jump Square magazine, beginning on August 4, 2023.

As of writing, there are 7 volumes and 35 chapters.

Phantom Busters follows Eugene Korekishi, a straight-A student who does not believe in ghosts, and Mogari Shishikuno, an exorcist who destroys spirits by swallowing them whole while being unable to see ghosts.

Both meet Kaoru Kanzaki, who has the power to see spirits, and later, Kotaro Tamon, who has the ability to hear spirits but only wants to peacefully exorcises, and they work together to form an exorcist club in the school
