Oshi no Ko’s Sales Rise in Spite of The Response To Its Ending
In spite of the negative reaction to the manga’s ending, Oshi no Ko’s sales are still going strong as it reaches the 25 million sales milestone.
On December 21, 2025, it was revealed that Oshi no Ko’s overall sales have increased to 25 million copies worldwide.
This was a new update on sales after a year.
Last November 2024, the series reached the 20 million sales milestone and this was prior to the release of the final volume.
The ending brought out much controversy from the fandom due to the lack of catharsis in every character conclusion, especially as Aqua Hoshino’s death felt wasted.
After a year, we have seen a 5 million increase, making this Akasaka’s best-selling work as Kaguya-Sama: Love is War sales are currently at 24 million as of June 28th, 2025 according to MyAnimeList.
Oshi no Ko Season 3 will be released on January 14, 2026.
