Oshi No Ko Goes On A Month-Long Break
Oshi no Ko and Renai Daiko are going on hiatus due to Aka Akasaka’s poor health.
On August 9, Aka Akasaka’s Shueisha’s Twitter account announced that both of his manga series, Oshi no ko and Renai Daiko, will be going on hiatus for around one month.
Both manga are going on hiatus due to his health. In the tweet, Akasaka notes that he has been unwell for about a month but has already returned to writing, but chapters will have some delay.
Meanwhile, Mengo Yokoyari, illustrator for Oshi no Ko will be drawing a short side story, Oshi no Ko: Interlude. It will be serialized for four weeks.
About Oshi No Ko
Written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokari, Oshi No Ko is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2020, and 10 volumes are currently available.
Shueisha’s Manga Plus is releasing the manga digitally in English.
The manga received an anime adaptation that premiered on April 12 with a 90-minute first episode.
HIDIVE is streaming it as it airs in Japan, with the anime being the #1 series launch in the service’s history.
